AGAINST SGT MAJ OF THE ARMY GENE McKINNEY

The Army is trying to keep a lid on things at Fort Bliss, Tex. where everyone is talking about the relief of Command Sgt. Maj. "Lonny" Wright as boss of the Sergeants Major Academy.

All we have been able to find out so far, is Lt. Gen. William Caldwell, the commanding general of the Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth, Kan. (the academy's higher education headquarters), has instituted a 15-6 administrative investigation. No other details have been released.

Word is, the brass want to keep the probe "administrative" and avoid bad publicity in the local news media. They needn't worry. The daily newspaper in El Paso rarely writes anything to displease one of the biggest employers in the area. But the generals apparently are taking no chances.

They know MilitaryCorruption.com cannot be silenced or controlled. And if we get the low-down, we'll be sure to pass it to you, our readers.

ANOTHER "COVER-UP" OF A SGT MAJ FROM ACADEMY
1998's McKINNEY "SEX HARRASSMENT" CASE

All this "hush-hush" effort reminds us of a scandal back in 1998 when our editor-in-chief was still in uniform before he and the late Gen. Peter Genovese, USAR (Ret), founded MCC.

The pampered and protected whiner, Sgt. Maj. (Ret) Brenda Hoster - suspected by some of being a man-hating lesbian - accused Sgt. Maj. of the Army Gene McKinney of "sexual harassment." It turned out to be a bogus charge, as the top-ranking Black enlisted man was found innocent at court-martial of 17 out of 18 charges thrown against him.

There was no book or movie deal for Hoster, perhaps because a courageous female sgt. major and African-American female, Elizabeth D. McCullum, risked her pension and future to tell the truth about Hoster's hypocrisy.

This married mother and outstanding NCO was sickened to see Brenda flaunting her lifestyle with a Black master sergeant in their quarters at Ft. Bliss.

Every effort was made to discourage Sgt. Maj. McCullum from coming forward, and Hoster - knowing the dynamite McCullum possessed, refused to testify if her past sex life was going to be one of the topics at McKinney's court-martial.

During the proceedings themselves, the Army tried their best to limit any damage the honest non-commissioned officer could make. They cut her testimony short. But the truth finally won out.

"DIFFERENT SPANKS FOR DIFFERENT RANKS"

We are no great admirer of McKinney. There were others at the time we thought we better qualified to be sergeant major of the Army. And at times, McKinney can be just plain dumb. But back in 1998, he was thrown to the wolves in the wake of the Aberdeen Proving Grounds "sexual harassment" witch hunt, because too many flag officers were getting in trouble themselves.

You know damn well what we are talking about, retired Gen. Denis Reimer. Remember when you "hid out" (until he could be quietly retired) a crony of yours - a major general - at corruption-plagued Carlisle Barracks, who got in serious trouble overseas - like allegedly getting a female subordinate officer pregnant and then funding her abortion? Will you put that story in your memoirs? Clue - the protected general's name used to be an automobile brand. Hmmmm.

We have in our possession - it "came over the transom" from an anonymous source - a letter written by an Army doctor stating this particular officer was a dangerous nut case. Of course, nothing was done about the flag officer's bizarre behavior and the brave Army physician who dared complain, was soon a civilian again after sending out his letter to the entire chain-of-command.
