FORMER ARMY OFFICER PERSECUTED
FOR PROTECTING TROOPS IN IRAQ TO
RUN FOR SEAT IN CONGRESS - LTC ALLEN
WEST LOST CAREER TO "POLITICALLY-
CORRECT" RUMSFELD BOOTLICKER GEN
RAYMOND ODIERNO - AFRICAN-AMERICAN
NOW SETS SIGHTS ON FLORIDA'S 22ND
DISTRICT - STANDS GOOD CHANCE TO WIN
Once in a while, a sad story has a happy ending. This November, former Army LTC Allen B. West may be able to serve his country once again - this time as a newly-elected member of Congress.
The highly-respected former combat commander was sacked in 2003 by "politically-correct" Rumsfeld bootlicker, Maj. Gen. Raymond Odierno, after West fired a .45 close to the head of an Iraqi suspect to get information that ended up saving the lives of his men.
The spooked prisoner admitted an ambush of the Americans was set to be sprung and West's troops were able to kill or capture all the attackers as a result of the intelligence their colonel obtained.
WEST'S MILITARY CAREER DESTROYED BY A
As a battalion commander in the 4th Infantry Division, West was on his way to a bird colonel promotion and bright future in the Army when bullet-head Odierno, now a three-star general (why are we not surprised?), took some bad advice from his JAG officers and tried to court-martial the brave combat leader.
A huge adverse reaction back here in the United States - spurred on, in part, by several articles on MilitaryCorruption.com [see "related stories box" at end of this article] - saved West from being railroaded into the Leavenworth DB. The light colonel retired and the Army lost a fine officer.
Now West is back. And if he succeeds as a Republican in what has been a longtime GOP-held Congressional seat, he'll be in a position to help American soldiers once more.
In 2006, the 22nd District of Florida fell to the Democrats in the wake of George Bush's lame-brained stunt of praising Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's so-called "leadership" - ["He's doing a FANTASTIC job," the Alfred E. Newman look-alike gushed] - just six days before the general election. Citizens, upset by slow progress and poor planning in the war, as well as Bush's inability to sense the public's displeasure, took the drastic action of throwing out Republican officeholders - both good and bad - from one end of the country to the other.
For the first time since 1994, the Democrats won control of both the House and Senate. It was a stinging rebuke to Bush, his puppet-master, Dick "Halliburton" Cheney, and their odious neo-CON pals in Washington.
FLORIDA'S 22ND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT NEEDS A MAN OF HONOR
LIKE ALLEN B. WEST
Now that the Nancy Pelosi - Harry Reid-led Democratic Congress has sunk to a pathetic 11% approval rating in the latest opinion polls - political observers think the pendulum may swing back the other way, regardless of how the 2008 Presidential race turns out.
We are non-partisan here at MilitaryCorruption.com, unafraid to criticize politicians of both parties whenever they screw or neglect our nation's veterans. Which, unfortunately, is more often than not.
But we can say with confidence that there is at least one man of honor and integrity, proven on the battlefield in Iraq, who would be a welcome addition to the U.S. Congress. That man is our friend, a born leader, LTC Allen B. West.
