AIR FORCE LTC GETS THE BOOT
CAUGHT FALSIFYING PERFORMANCE
EVALUATIONS TRIED TO GET OTHERS
TO LIE FOR HIM AND COVER IT UP
When Lt. Col. Joseph Wilson ripped less than perfect performance evaluations
for 2000 and 2001out of his records jacket and inserted forgeries,
he never figured hed get caught.
The former commander of the 554th Red Horse Squadron at Osan AFB in Korea didnt count on eagle-eyed enlisted members who blew the whistle on the fakery.
Wilson even asked his first sergeant to lie for him, but the top-kick would have none of it.
Our CIs (confidential informants) at Osan tell us Wilson was in zone for promotion to colonel and wanted 0-6 something bad. Now the light colonel will be lucky to salvage a pension check. At ANY rank!
Lt. Gen. Lance Smith, commander of Korea-based 7th Air Force will review and decide if the court-martial sentence stands or is altered.
If Wilson stays in, itll be at a lower grade. Thats for sure. But Air Force noncoms tell MilitaryCorruption.com that the light colonel should get the boot. One old-timer said, if an E-7 did something like that, hed be on the fast track to the DB.
You might call this case close but no cigar, said a wry observer. Wilson was just two months short of minimum qualification for retirement after 20 years service.
