Where and when did high school track star Carl Garcia go wrong? Maybe he just was born bad.
The 25 year-old Norfolk, Va. man and former Navy Reservist has been convicted of burglary and rape and was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years over the weekend.
Now, the only tail he might get in the future, will be from a prison punk. Garcia's days of sexually assaulting women are definitely over.
It took a long time to bring him to justice.
The sex fiend's crime spree began in 2008 when he broke into the home of a Norfolk woman.
ASSAULTED VICTIM AND HER DAUGHTER
"Don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just hungry and I need money." he said. Then he stole $200 and raped her anyway.
A month later, investigators say, he returned to the same house and this time tied up his first victim and sexually assaulted the woman's 15 year-old daughter.
By 2010, Garcia was serving with the Navy in Kuwait and attempted to rape a female Army captain in a shower at Camp Arifjan The officer fought back with her fists and legs and Garcia fled. This time, he had used a box-cutter to try and intimidate the victim. NCIS agents collected DNA at the scene.
They were surprised to find the DNA sample matched DNA from the 2008 Norfolk assaults. But they still didn't have a name to put to the evidence. But finally, in 2013, cops were able to trace fingerprints on a used condom wrapper to Garcia.
NCIS FINALLY NAILED HIM
NCIS trailed him to the Bronx, New York, where Garcia was a member of a Naval Reserve unit. As soon as they spotted him consuming lunch at a base facility - he left behind a used fork and half-eaten banana - they scooped up the material and, voila, got a match to the Virginia and Kuwait attacks.
Garcia first claimed the sex in Norfolk was "consensual," then, that he was elsewhere at the time of the attack. He even had two stooges who swore they were with him in another part of town.
His lies didn't wash with the judge, and now, thankfully, this scum is out of the Navy and going to jail for the rest of his worthless, wasted life.
