FROM THE COLD CASE FILES
NEW EVIDENCE BLOWS BEMIS CASE WIDE OPEN
© 2014 MilitaryCorruption.com
This case was never a "suicide" in the first place. It was and is murder.
Military and civilian law enforcement agencies often try and get troublesome investigations closed and "off the plate" by labeling them as "suicide," thus letting the real killer or killers get away, and victimizing the dead person's family one more time.
That is despicable, and we are not going to stand for it.
AUTOPSY PHOTOS PROVIDE CLUES
Digging into the Cold Case Files, we had the autopsy photos of slain Navy CPO John Keith Bemis, murdered in his San Diego apartment back in August of 2012, blown up and enhanced, and have found damning evidence that he was tortured and strangled before he died.
Readers should check out our earlier story (see "related stories box" below) for more details. In that article, we reported the alleged suicide weapon was a .40 cal. handgun, said to have been inserted into the chief's mouth, but the exit wound at the back of his head came from a .22 caliber - the favorite execution weapon of the Mafia and drug gangs.
We also asked out loud why there was no blood "blowback" on the handgun allegedly used by Bemis to take his own life?
DID BEMIS KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT A DRUG
Why was CPO Bemis killed? Did he have knowledge of drug activity in the area and was murdered to shut him up? It's beginning to look like whoever killed the career Navy man, tortured him before killing him by strangulation.
And the photo blow-ups reveal something else that is a dead giveaway that Bemis didn't die by his own hand. He could not have carved with a small knife the Spanish words "arana" (spider) and "basura" (trash) on the back of his neck. Likewise, it would have been extremely difficult for he himself to etch out the initials DEA near the corner of his mouth.
"WEIRD WOMAN" BUILDS SANTORIA SHRINE
In our initial story, we disclosed a Hispanic woman who lived next door to CPO Bemis was said to have been obsessed with him.
A source in Texas told us that "a weird female" had erected a shrine at her door with a poster board with pictures of Bemis and cut-outs of hearts plastered all over it.
"There were candles, a Bible, a brick cross, a glass of water and a glass of alcohol as part of a Santeria shrine," our source said..
Bemis told shipmates on the USS Independence that he was "freaked out" by the woman's obsessive behavior, and that he had no intention of having a serious relationship with her.
Also of interest, is the fact that the slain sailor always wore a Christian cross on a small beaded chain around his neck. When his body was found on the floor of his apartment, the cross was gone and hasn't been accounted for since.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: -- The NCIS failed to enter the investigation in 2012, deferring to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. We feel, in light of the new evidence we've uncovered that points to murder, the Navy gum-shoes have run out of excuses not to get involved. What do you think, dear readers?]
