TOP THREE SAILORS ON DDG-95 (USS WILLIAMS)
You can take this to the bank, gang.
Two senior officers and a "wonder boy" master chief (promoted to E-9 from boot camp in just 12 years) are facing the abrupt end of their Navy careers.
We've written about troubles on the USS Williams before. Check out our top item in the related stories box below.
USS WILLIAMS CALLED "THE LOVE BOAT"
DDG-95 has been dubbed the "love boat" in the past for all the shenanigans that took place aboard the tin can. Now, it appears the top-three leadership of the Norfolk-based warship have been removed because the Navy found them to be "derelict of duty."
In fact, in the case of the ship's top enlisted sailor, the CMC was also tagged for being drunk on duty.
You can bet the farm that his meteoric career has come to an end. Travis Biswell won't remain in the Fleet or the Navy, unless he takes a bust in rank, and people that know him well, says he's unlikely to accept that.
As for ex-commanding officer, CMDR Curtis Calloway and his executive officer, CMDR Ed Handley, both men have "dereliction of duty" on their records now. That's enough to put them out in the civilian world.
WAS IT REALLY A "SUICIDE?"
We reported earlier that there was some concern on the part of shipmates that a female sailor found dead in her bunk on the troubled boat might have met her end in a way the NCIS did not say or reveal.
All we know is, the "official" verdict is that the minority member from Puerto Rico has been labeled an "apparent suicide."
That means, no matter what really happened, the Navy has declared: "Nothing to see here, folks. Just move right along." And apparently that is exactly what's going to happen.
