Here's some good news, for a change.
Remember when we wrote about the Air Force colonel who was punished for adhering to his religious beliefs? He was Leland Bohannon, a senior pilot who saw his career crash and burn after a gay retiring master sergeant raised hell Bohannon wouldn't personally sign a "letter of appreciation" to the member of a "same-sex" couple.
The colonel wisely got a two-star general to sign the letter, which in the end, saved his career. That, and the good, common sense of Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson, who ruled that Bohannon had done nothing wrong.
THIS CASE THE RESULT OF "P.C." OVERKILL
Political correctness run amuck resulted in the colonel being labeled a religious bigot and losing a long-anticipated promotion to brigadier general. If the Obama regime was still in power, the chances for Bohannon to be cleared and vindicated would have been slim to none.
But with the support of First Liberty institute and Air Force Academy graduate Wilson, common sense prevailed.
"Col. Bohannon has right to exercise his sincerely-held religious beliefs. He did not unlawfully discriminate against anyone when he declined to personally sign a letter of appreciation for the same-sex spouse of one of his airmen last year," Wilson wrote in a statement released to the news media.
