BRASS TO KICK TEN PERSONNEL OFF DDG

Old sailors are scratching their heads trying to recall the last time the Navy kheel-hauled a skipper, his CMC, two officers, five chiefs and a petty officer, all in one fell swoop. That's right, gang. Ten members of the crew on the USS Stout are out of a job and off the Aegis-class guided missle destroyer.

The two top names on the list are the tin can's captain, CMDR Nathan Borchers, and his knock-out, good-looking CMC, Susan Bruce-Ross. We're not kidding. This gal definately is not your typical fat, man-hating bull-dyke. She is simply gorgeous. And while there's no accusation the boat's top enlisted person is, or was, involved in any "sexual hijinks," it isn't hard to imagine horny sailors taking a good, long look at the CMC as she maneuvered herself up and down passage-ways aboard ship.

Two officers, five chiefs, and a petty officer comprise the rest of the casualty list. In their case, the disciplinary action consists primarily of non-judicial punishment, although one officer might yet face a court-martial.

"THINGS MAY HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF HAND" ON STOUT

The Navy says the unusual action was taken due to a "pervasive pattern of unprofessional behavior" on the seven year-old ship. Comments like "sub-standard command climate on board" and "poor crew morale" indicate that things may have gotten out of hand on the destroyer's Mediterranean cruise.

DDG-55 left her home-port of Norfolk in December, the same month that nerdy-looking Borchers took command. It didn't take long for things to screw up.

We hear "fraternization" and "drunken and disorderly behavior" marked several port calls. It's an old Navy tradition that when you bend a screw, scrape the bottom, or sailors get in trouble ashore, the captain takes the fall. What's especially interesting in this case is the CMC took a big hit, just as the skipper did. What is the Navy not telling us?

"SOCIAL ENGINEERING" AND TODAY'S NAVY

Women aboard warships doesn't always work.

Take the case of "Horrible Holly Graf," the coffee-cup throwing, hands-around-the-neck shrew, who was relieved of command of the USS Cowpens last year. She's a "ringknocker" from the Naval Academy, has a twin sister who's an admiral, and is supported by the powerful Pentagon gaggle of lesbians nicknamed "The Sisterhood."

We'll have more to say about Graf in the next few days, but now it looks like critics of females at sea (and especially in the closed quarters of a submarine) might have some more ammo. Not that it matters. Obama will force through his social-engineering no matter what. And Gates and Mullen will genuflect towards the Oval Office. But this latest problem with a mixed-gender crew on a guided-missle destroyer at sea won't help the feminists one bit.
