FORT BRAGG, N.C. (MCC) -- We have "eyes and ears" everywhere. Especially here at Fort Bragg.

The top brass don't like it when we expose cover-ups and wrong-doing. They especially go ape when we reveal something so embarrassing that it's sure to trigger angry phone calls and e-mails from the Pentagon to the commanding general, and he to his hapless PAO.

A certain brown substance always rolls downhill from on high.

MORE BAD PUBLICITY FOR FORT BRAGG?

With the GEN Sinclair court-martial just concluded here, and all the fall-out and bad publicity from that still in the air, a sexually-related scandal that could grab more unpleasant headlines for the Army is festering in the background.

A little over a month ago, the Command announced that a "senior enlisted advisor" in the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade had been "temporarily suspended" pending the outcome of a "criminal investigation."

Our CI's report to us that the male top-ranking NCO is being investigated for allegedly coming onto a fellow male senior non-com following a booze party. To put it bluntly, our sources say the CSM tried to have sex with the soused MSG after he had passed out from heavy drinking.

TRYING TO AVOID EMBARRASSMENT

If the two were lesbians, the reaction would probably be a "ho-hum." What else is new? But when two macho males of this rank are reportedly involved in a homosexual act, it becomes a big story.

That is why the powers that be want to keep a lid on this, if possible.

We aren't going to publish any names before the PAO does, for obvious reasons. Everybody deserves their day in court. But in this type of case, the Army would prefer the embarrassing reasons for the probe remain in the shadows.
