It didn't take the Pentagon long to take down what Brig. Gen. Bryan Roberts had to say about sexual misconduct in the military. Gone from the Army's web site are these words:
"Team, Jackson, let me be clear. The Army has zero tolerance for sexual harassment and assault, and so do I. . . . we must rid our ranks of this cancerous conduct."
Now it seems, if investigators are right, that the youthful-looking general was preaching "do as I say, not as I do," only not saying that out loud.
Roberts has been "suspended" from his post as commanding general of the Army Training Center at Fort Jackson, S.C.
TWO GENERALS BUSTED WITHIN SIX MONTHS
A Pentagon spokesperson wouldn't give MilitaryCorruption.com any more details than were in the terse press release that dropped like a bomb Tuesday evening.
FOX NEWS, The Associated Press, and other media outlets are covering this story, which is certainly a first - two general officers simultaneously digging their own graves with their dicks.
Lover boy Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair, former deputy commanding officer of the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan, is facing court-martial on multiple sex charges, including "forcible sodomy."
At least it was with a female officer, and not a young (male) soldier.
That has been known to happen in the past, but no general in the U.S. Army has ever been brought up on charges for such an act.
A third flag officer, former CIA Director, Gen. David Petraeus, has so far avoided any disciplinary action for his admitted adulterous affair with his young mistress, Army Reserve LTC Paula Broadwell. More about them at the end of this story.
ACCUSED GENERAL MARRIED WITH KIDS
All Army flaks would say to us is Roberts was removed for a breach of "good order and discipline, contrary to Army values."
The accused general is married with three children.
Roberts took command at Ft. Jackson in 2011 and was on the fast track towards his second star. He has served in Iraq as commanding officer of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, and was deputy commanding general of the U.S.Army Recruiting Command at Fort Knox, Ky.
WHY DOUBLE STANDARD OF JUSTICE?
As for Petraeus and gal pal/public relations person Broadwell, it is curious why they have escaped any punishment long after the "fair-haired boy" general resigned after a very brief tenure as CIA Director.
Could it be because the general might spill the beans about what he was told to say about Benghazi?
Most of our readers are familiar with the AR that states no officer can hold or retire in a rank he or she has not "satisfactorily served in."
Woo hoo! That's bad news for Broadwell, unless her Pentagon pals continue to protect her. She was still a major when she banged the general in Afghanistan. Paula got a promotion to light colonel right after her fun and frolic with Petraeus, so perhaps the four-star helped his mistress move up the rank ladder.
CAN YOU SAY "CAPTAIN BROADWELL?"
Well, if the regulations are adhered to, that means Broadwell might just end up a captain, as she was still a major when she misbehaved.
That would be a bitter pill for the foxy West Point graduate to, pardon the pun, "swallow," as her career until now had been one super achievement after the other.
She's not close to being eligible for retirement, so the Army can't "ease her out the door" with a slap-on-the-wrist, like they do the big boys.
