We don't know if Army MP Brit Wright is going to be punished by the military, but he sure has Forrest County Sheriff Billy McGee upset. Chances are the GI will face civilian charges of filing a false police report.
It seems the "intruder" who blasted him at close range with a handgun at the North Gate of Camp Shelby, Miss. on Jan. 20 was non-other than the soldier's very angry wife. She allegedly was upset about her hubby seeing another woman.
"If she'd fired two inches higher, he would be dead," said McGee. Luckily for the MP, his ballistic vest stopped the slug and the military policeman got out of it, shaken up but unharmed.
Now it turns out that Wright may have known who his assailant was all along but kept that from police. The GI was grilled for several hours after the shooting incident last Friday night and finally confessed to cops he had not been entirely truthful.
FIRST, SHE SHOOTS HUSBAND, THEN THEY KISS AND MAKE UP
In a bizarre twist to the domestic spat, sources tell MilitaryCorruption.com Tiffany phoned her hubby while he was on-duty and asked him to meet her at the gate, next to the Hattisburg, Miss. city line. The sprawling Camp Shelby installation is part of Forrest County.
When she arrived, she was wearing one of her husband's uniforms, pulled the gun, opened fire, and then, without a word, got back in her vehicle and left. Perhaps she knew he was wearing a bullet-proof vest and just wanted to scare the hell out of him. She did.
But observers' jaws fell to the floor when they saw the shooter and her frightened hubby reconcile in the hospital and go home together. That was, of course, prior to her arrest.
Hot-headed Tiffany is in a heap of trouble, but fortunate she has only been charged (thus far) with "aggravated domestic assault."
