CAPT ROBBY WILLIAMSIt was two days before Christmas 2013 when Air Force Capt. Robbie Williams failed to show up for work at Shaw AFB in South Carolina.

An intensive hunt was launched, but there was no sign of the missing officer.

Finally, early this year, investigators tracked Williams to several states including Georgia and Alabama where he was picked up on surveillance cameras at banks and liquor stores.

ONLY FOUR MONTHS LOCKED UP

The captain decided to plead guilty in order to soften the sentence he could have received as a deserter. He claimed to have been suffering from anxiety, depression and alcoholism.

Friends who knew Williams told MilitaryCorruption.com they feared he was having "mental problems."

His job had been organizing communications between airmen overseas and the South Carolina air base.
