It never seems to end. Yet another crooked military contracting officer has been caught and faces a long stretch in the pen.

The latest field-grade officer to ruin his life and career is retired MAJ Charles Bowie of Georgetown, Tex. The 45 year-old ex-officer served in Kuwait from April 2004 to April 2005. His troubles began when he tied in with a super-crook, ex-MAJ John Cockerham, said by our sources to be the "mastermind" of a ring of corrupt Army contracting officers.

Cockerham literally made millions of dollars from his nefarious schemes and allegedly showed others how to "beat the system."

But in 2008 his world came crashing down around his ears when he was nailed for taking more than $9 million in cash for steering business to dishonest contractors.

Now the San Antonio native, who is not cooperating in the ongoing federal probe, is serving a 17.5 year stretch in federal prison.

As for Bowie, he's trying to do damage control by ratting out his fellow thieves. If he's lucky, he can get time shaved off his potential 10 year sentence (and $250,000 fine), by naming names and cooperating with investigators.

ONE MAJOR CAUGHT COMMITTED SUICIDE

Both male officers fared better than well-liked female MAJ Gloria Davis.

This officer, stationed at Camp Victory in the famed Green Zone, was caught taking $250,000 under the table. In December 2006, the CID caught up with her and grilled her most of the night.

When Davis was allowed to go to her bunk for some rest, she waited until her escorts thought she asleep, then reached for her handgun and blew her brains out.
