LT HARRIS GETS HAMMERED - NAVAL ACADEMY
It's off to prison for 2005 Naval Academy graduate and former "TOP GUN" pilot-instructor LT Daniel Harris. A U.S. magistrate sentenced him to fifty years behind bars Monday in federal court at Norfolk, Va.
Few military members have fallen as far as Harris has, from grandson of a Navy admiral and hot-shot fighter-pilot, to convicted sex criminal, who incredibly wrote a letter from jail offering to tell the Chinese govt. "all I know" about such state-of-the-art military equipment as the F-35 and other aircraft in America's arsenal if they would help him "bust out of his cell" in a Virginia jail..
Showing no emotion, as Judge Mark Davis called him a "sadistic blackmailer" - Harris was found guilty of threatening young girls he met online who sent him nude photos of themselves, that he'd exposed them if they did not cooperate with his sick sexual fantasies - the Navy two-striper stared like a zombie as he was led away in chains.
IS HARRIS "CRAZY LIKE A FOX,"
To compound the ex-fighter jock's child-porn problems, Harris was caught trying to get a letter to the Chinese Embassy in Washington saying he no longer swore allegiance to the United States.
Recently divorced by his wife, Harris wrote "my country no longer believes in me, so I no longer believe in my country."
Somewhere along the line, he had a big disconnect. Either Harris is absolutely nuts, or a total sociopath. It was the child-pornography activities that cost him his career. Why can't he realize that?
But then again, maybe he is "crazy like a fox." On appeal, his lawyer can claim Harris to be a wacko, and that just might get him transferred to a country-club-like psychiatric lock-up. That sure would beat sharing a cell with Bubba at Leavenworth. Last we heard, the tough guys in the cell blocks there don't take kindly to officers who exploit and hurt underage girls.
