He should have known better, but apparently the presence of two female chief petty officers at Cheatham Annex, Va. was too much for Command Master Chief Richard Ward to resist.

The 23-year Navy veteran and top-ranking enlisted man at Navy Expeditionary Logistics Support Group has been relieved after standing mast for "fraternization" with the Navy women as well as "other infractions."

In addition, Ward was tagged with disobeying a commissioned officer, making a false official statement, and misusing a govt. cell phone.

GET THOSE RETIREMENT PAPERS READY

The Dallas, Tex. native has been transferred to other duties, and Senior Chief Engineman Anthony McDuffie will assume Ward's post until a permanent replacement can be found.

CMC (SW/AW) Ward was fired by Rear Adm. Mark Belton. A Navy spokesperson would not comment to MilitaryCorruption.com about who the women are and what, if any, disciplinary action has been taken against them.

Sources at the annex say Ward will be busy in the days ahead preparing his retirement packet. He is fortunate he didn't lose a stripe, we are told. E-9's are expected to have better judgment than that shown by the command chief.
