The Republicans may have won the election, but one remnant of the Clinton years remains.

Janet Langhart, former Defense Secretary William Cohen’s imperious wife, still has plenty of “pull” at the Pentagon.

Sources tell MilitaryCorruption.com the hard-charging, onetime weather-girl on Chicago TV, got in a “snit” recently with the United Services Organization – better known as the USO – because they balked at some of her demands.

Why, they wouldn’t let Langhart have stationery with “First Lady of the USO” emblazoned across the top! That’s terrible!

And when USO didn’t allow the publicity-conscious former model to accompany Miss America to the Pentagon in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, that was simply outrageous!

But the straw that broke the camel’s back came when USO said “NO” to Langhart travelling to military bases using her “First lady” title.

SETS UP HER OWN ENTERTAINMENT TROUPE

What to do?

Easy. Just set up your own outfit, complete with entertainers and subsidized by Pentagon brass hats, and “voila, “ you have “The Janet Langhart Cohen Citizen Patriot Tour.”

Now remember, dear reader, this isn’t about an egotistical, aging, anchor-babe who’s used to “giving orders.” We must understand no “vanity” is involved here.

The ONLY reason the troupe is identified as “The Janet Langhart Cohen Citizen Patriot Tour” (Get that? She’s a “citizen patriot,” rah! rah!) is because the 60-plus, former Boston TV newsreader doesn’t want us to confuse her group with the USO. Got it? Yeah, that’s the ticket!

Anyway, the high-powered Langhart, who’s alleged to keep Cohen – her third husband – on a short leash (the second one, Dr. Robert Kistner committed suicide) – is no one Washington insiders want to tangle with.

“She can bark commands like a D.I. and intimidate like a general,” said one former Pentagon staffer who has felt Langhart’s wrath.

“You don’t want to displease her,” the source said. “She’s got a long memory and the ability to punish whomever she pleases.”
