WHISTLEBLOWER AT WOMACK WINS SETTLEMENT

Teresa Gilbert is a life-saver.
The civilian infection control analyst at Womack Hospital at Fort Bragg has just won a settlement with the Army that provides her with an unspecified monetary amount and removes negative information that had been inserted into her personnel file in an attempt to smear her.
Two patients had died within a week of each other at Womack in 2014. Gilbert's blowing the whistle on unsafe practices at the facility angered the top brass.
The courageous civilian stood up to the illegal attacks and in the end emerged victorious.
UNSANITARY CONDITIONS AT ARMY HOSPITAL
A result of her disclosures about unsterilized instruments and staff, lacking in proper training to combat infection in the hospital, was the firing of Womack commander, COL Steven Brewster (see RSB below).
Gilbert obtained justice after reporting the short-comings and cover-ups to a hospital accreditation board and independent federal investigative agency specializing in probing whistleblowers accounts.
The investigation showed Gilbert was lied about and her work hours cut in retaliation for her exposing the lax infection control at the hospital.
MilitaryCorruption.com salutes this outstanding individual and cedits her with likely saving lives by risking her job and future to tell the truth.
