It was quite a sight. The once-powerful, sometimes abrasive chief of Evans Army Hospital at Fort Carson, being escorted out of the building by the CID on August 16.
COL John M. McGrath is in big trouble.
He's been suspended from his position and is under investigation for what the Army only will say (for now, at least) is "inappropriate behavior." Sources tell us nearly 30 people have filed complaints against him.
You can be sure there are some members of the opposite sex involved in this mess.
THE TALK OF FORT CARSON
The Pennsylvania native and graduate of Bucknell University took over command at Evans in January 2012.
Staffers learned of the news just before McGrath was taken away in the following e-mail:
"There have been allegations made against COL McGrath and an investigation is ongoing. He is in a suspended status until an investigation is complete. The Army takes all allegations seriously and this is a normal procedure that all soldiers go through."
The colonel has served two tours of duty in Iraq and holds the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal, all with oak leaf cluster.
