SHAME ON THEM! - ON THIS JULY 4TH HOLIDAY,

It lasts just 57 seconds. The playing of "TAPS," the beloved bugle call that millions of Americans who have served our country in uniform have heard in the evening at whatever military base they may have served on.
Now, a Navy veteran's promise to God that he would honor his fallen buddies from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan by playing a tape of the mournful call each night at 1955 hours in his suburban neighborhood, is causing turmoil in Glen Rock, Pa. The town council, of which Joshua Comey is a member, has warned the USNR lieutenant commander to stop his practice of two years standing or be charged with committing a "noise violation." If he doesn't halt, a fine of up to $300 a day could be levied against him.
In a letter of warning, a female council member claims neighbor complaints spurred her to take the unpopular position of trying to shut down Comey's nightly serenade, a tune that doesn't even last a minute, and never sounds louder than 80 decibels, the average sound of a common hair-dryer.
Comey has installed a three speaker system atop a pole on his property which is appreciated and admired by most of his neighbors, but apparently not by all. The political hacks on the Glen Rock Council have told Comey he can play the tape on Sundays and appropriate holidays, but to cease and desist from his nightly ritual.
NAVY MAN CHOOSES TO FIGHT
The officer, who has 20 years service under his belt, says he will not bow to the pressure and vows to take legal action if necessary.
We wonder what the real motive of the opposing council member is. Could it be she and Comey have very opposite political views - he being a conservative - and thinks this "warning" is a way to hammer him? If she does, apparently the dear lady hasn't experienced the annoying sound of autos parked at a stop-light or elsewhere on the street in front of a home, it's "boom box" radio playing so loudly that the entire car "vibrates" at a rate well above 80 decibels.
What does she think about church bells ringing, or Christmas carolers who might offend some of her atheist political allies? Leave the guy alone, lady. It's July 4th and you should be on your knees thanking God that somebody "went into harms way" so you can make a fool of yourself in peace and freedom. Get a life!.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: -- The mainstream media have run photos of Comey from two years ago, when he was still a two-stripe LT, wearing eight rows of ribbons (24 in all!) on his uniform. We don't recall many 0-3's with that much salad on their chest, so we want to go on record, we hope all those decorations are authorized. Even if they aren't, the point of our story is that while we honor our service members for their sacrifices - "all gave some, some gave all" - this July 4th Independence Day, the "politically correct" Glen Rock, Pa. town council members ought to be ashamed. Are any of them veterans themselves?]
