STAFF SGT COREY CAMPBELLCorey Campbell tearfully apologized to a 17 year-old girl and her family in a Wright-Patterson AFB courtroom Thursday, but it did him no good.

Military judge Lt. Col. Shaun Speranza sentenced the Air Force NCO to 55 months behind bars. a bust in rank to E-1, a dishonorable discharge, and loss of all pay and benefits.

The judge found the 28 year-old staff sergeant guilty of one count of sexual assault.

VICTIM TESTIFIED IN COURT

Sources tell us Campbell took advantage of the girl at a drinking party and had sexual intercourse with her while she was passed out.

"I can't think, I can't concentrate in school," the victim told the judge. "When someone taps me on the shoulder in class, I jump. It's hard to get to sleep at night."

Campbell, a member of the 338th Recruiting Squadron out of Cincinnati, had a good shot at making technical sergeant E-6 next year. Now he can mark that date as just another day in prison.

You might say, in the end, he "screwed" himself.
