July 4, 2011 was a wild time for Staff Sgt. Emily Allen. She had a sex party in her home with one male and two female trainees.
The Air Force MTI at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland is the first female instructor to be court-martialed in a huge scandal involving sex with trainees - a big "no-no" in all military branches.
Allen decided to plead guilty and throw herself on the mercy of the court. It worked.
JUDGE WENT EASY ON HER
The prosecution wanted to nail her good, asking the military judge to send the female non-com to jail for six months and kick her out of the Air Force with a BCD.
"How am I going to support my little daughter?" Allen said, tears running down her cheeks.
The judge gave her a slap-on-the-wrist. She receives three months jail time and a reduction in rank to airman first class. Most important to Allen, she gets to stay in the service and be spared the stigma a BCD would have brought to her life.
If she keeps her nose clean (and bra and panties on), she'll likely get back the lost stripe in a year and maybe retire someday as a tech or master sergeant.
