CMDR JOSEPH FAUTHIt looks like Navy CMDR Joseph Fauth IV just made it to the finish line.

The 42 year-old Houston native, a 1994 NROTC grad from the University of Texas at Austin, passed the 20 year mark of active duty service and qualified for a retirement pension a matter of weeks before being relieved as commanding officer of San Diego-based Coastal Riverine Squadron 3.

Chances are the three-striper will be "putting in his papers" soon.

All the Navy would say was Fauth was fired by Rear Admiral Frank Morneau over what we are told are "personnel issues."

CMDR Mike Dillender, chief staff officer for CRG 2, has assumed temporary command since Fauth walked the plank.

Fauth hasn't been in trouble before. He served on the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk and was executive officer on the DD Paul Hamilton.
