TIMES FROM MILITARYCORRUPTION.COM FOR
THEIR ROLE IN EXPOSING FIERRO'S OUTBURSTS
It's happened again. A senior officer at the U.S. Naval Academy has gone berserk and brought disgrace to himself and his uniform. The last time this happened, 2003, it was former Naval Academy boss Admiral Richard Naughton who abused and put his hands on a gate guard. That cost the arrogant and obnoxious officer his job. The latest incident should also result in a relief for cause.
Capt. Michael Fierro flipped out and used extremely vile and offensive language towards gate guards in full view of military personnel and civilians waiting in their cars to enter the Academy grounds at Annapolis.
Three complaints, filed with Department of Defense Police, came from two of the guards and a civilian employee. They cover incidents that allegedly took place over a two day period, Oct. 21 to 22 of last month.
Thanks to Navy TIMES, who obtained documents containing the statements, the ugly incident can't be swept under the rug by the top brass. The comments and curses screamed by Fierro are so ugly that we cannot print them here. The words used, indicate that Fierro is a crude "bully boy" who should be fired as soon as possible.
The 1982 Academy graduate is presently commanding officer of the Naval Support Activity Annapolis. How he got this far in his career without someone seeing his instability is open to question. But the way the captain charged up to the guards and sprayed spittle at them as he raved like a lunatic, indicates he may need psychiatric help.
A GATE GUARD TELLS WHAT HAPPENED
One of the abused sentries, Operations Specialist 2nd Class Stuart Guarino, told Navy TIMES that Fierro exploded when he saw an unarmed sentry in a dungaree uniform manning the gate while Guarino was using the bathroom inside the guardhouse. Sentries are supposed to wear camouflage uniforms.
There was an explanation for the other guard not being in uniform, Guarino explained. The sailor was "new to Annapolis" and had been sent to the gate by his command knowing he was in dungarees. Guarino said the sailor "did not yet own a camo uniform."
The PO2 said the guard out of uniform was needed "at the last minute" because the regular sentry "had been tasked to drive an unnamed four-star admiral to Andrews Air Force Base when he finished a visit to the Naval Academy."
The following morning - according to the written statements - Fierro returned to the gate and again erupted into a torrent of curses and threats. One of the guards reported the tyrannical captain was furious "word had gotten out" about the previous day's incident.
A civilian witness stated that Fierro's "arms were flying" and his fingers were jabbing into the guard's faces. "Spit was spraying from his mouth, the verbal assault was so vicious," the witness said.
CAPTAIN MICHAEL FIERRO UNFIT TO REMAIN IN NAVY -
MCC SAYS "HIT THE BRICKS"
Right here, it should be noted that Fierro had 24 hours to cool off and get over his temper tantrum. But for the second day in a row, delaying others who sat in their cars idling at the gate, the four-striper flew into a tirade. The foul-mouthed senior officer lost control, again.
There is no doubt in our mind that he should be put out of the Navy. Thank God Fierro didn't have a firearm with him at the time of his crazed outbursts. Who knows what tragedy could have taken place?
We at MilitaryCorruption.com feel Capt. Michael Fierro should be ordered to publicly apologize to the guards he berated and the Naval Academy he embarrassed by his outrageous and highly unprofessional conduct.
Then, he should put in his papers and go.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: - While we're on the subject of the Naval Academy, we also feel a former female faculty member and Navy lieutenant commander who worked part-time as a high-paid whore for the "D.C. Madam," should get more than just a transfer and a "slap-on-the-wrist." If a male officer prostituted himself and violated his security clearance, we have no doubt he would have been court-martialed and doing time at the Leavenworth DB by now.
It is demeaning and a terrible insult to the many outstanding Navy women, officers and enlisted alike, who serve honorably and well, to let "political correctness" prevail in such a sensitive and disturbing case.]
