The top enlisted sailor aboard the dock landing ship USS Germantown, who was fired late last year for "conspiracy to procure prostitutes" has cut a deal with prosecutors.
Command Master Chief Jesus Galura now admits he directed a senior master chief under him (Paul Swank), to go on the Internet and check prices for prostitutes in anticipation of an upcoming port call Philippines.
Swank wasn't the only senior chief who scoped out the homepages of professional whores. NCIS contends Galura "was out of control" in his pursuit of more earthly pleasures.
During his court-martial at the Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan, Galura acknowledged he used government facilities to send out an e-mail picture of two scantily-clad females with a boastful caption of his sexual prowess underneath.
In his plea bargain, the CMC acknowledged he had violated a general order and made a false official statement to investigators.
Best case scenario for Galura is to be busted back in rank, but remain in the Navy. He's not out of the woods yet, as his court-martial will resume later this month when he faces charges he "forcibly kissed" and "improperly touched" a subordinate sailor.
