FORT BRAGG, N.C. (MCC) -- We're in the "homestretch."
Decision day as to the fate of GEN Jeffrey Sinclair could come today (Wednesday) if military judge, COL James Pohl, wants to reveal right away the sentence in this court-martial that has attracted the nation's attention.
A majority of our readers feel the so-called "victim," a female captain who had a three-year sexual affair with Sinclair and then turned on him when she discovered she wasn't the only woman in his life, has been lying repeatedly on the witness stand.
We'll have more on that later this week in a special feature story, so be sure to click on MilitaryCorruption.com early and often for an incisive dissection of her and other female accusers in the past who sought revenge by playing the "system."
"LIAR, LIAR, PANTIES ON FIRE!"
Granted immunity by politically-correct, over-zealous prosecutors, the woman now known as CPT "BO PEEP" - or should we dub her "Rebecca from Sunnybrook Farm?" - committed perjury repeatedly during her fumbling and phony testimony.
Asked under oath to confirm or deny the fact she wanted the general to divorce his wife and marry her, the accuser flatly denied that, only to have a Sinclair defense attorney produce the captain's e-mails and journal entries that contradicted her just-completed statement.
We aren't privy to the private agreement the alleged "victim" had with the prosecution attack dogs, but perhaps she thinks being granted immunity from prosecution for her own adultery includes being allowed to lie and commit perjury with impunity while under oath, charged with telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but, so help her God.
PRAISE AND CONDEMNATIONTuesday's session was mostly witnesses that either praised or damned Sinclair's character.
One warrant officer said he'd go into combat anytime under Sinclair, while a female officer sniffed she was offended when the general invited her to join him horseback riding and showed more than a casual interest in getting to know her better.
The big speculation here at Fort Bragg is, will Sinclair get any time behind bars? The prosecution - now known as "the gang that couldn't shoot straight" - would love prison time for the former deputy commander of the 82nd Airborne Division. That would help divert attention from their own inept and bumbling efforts to destroy Sinclair by hook or crook.
It all comes down to this. The waiting. Whatever the result, there will be shrieks of outrage from the super-feminist man-haters who want Sinclair hung by his balls from the nearest flagpole, if the general escapes incarceration in a jail cell.
