When the parents of a teenage boy discovered he was getting highly inappropriate e-mail messages from a 49 year-old man, they contacted the FBI and a sting was set up.
Boy lover, Lt. Col. Stephen Governale, U.S. Air Force Reserve, was nabbed at a Wendy's near Orlando, Fl. where he had hoped to meet his young friend for another evening of porn films and homosexual sex in a nearby hotel.
Instead, he got handcuffs slapped on his wrists and saw his future as an Air Force officer go up in smoke.
Governale was the former protocol officer at CENTCOM in Tampa. The smooth-talking, onetime CENTCOM "Employee of the Year" couldn't talk him way out of this mess.
BOY LOVER MARRIED WITH A COLLEGE-AGE DAUGHTER
The unidentified teen-age boy told investigators the colonel had seduced him into sharing his bed several times at a Florida hotel while the two watched porn movies and then had sex.
Married and father of a college-age daughter, Governale decided to go for a plea bargain with the U.S. Attorney's office.
By admitting to "enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity," the balding pervert bought himself at least 10 years in the federal pen. He could have received a much longer stretch if convicted at trial.
Sentencing date for Governale is June 13th.
