GENERAL WAS FIRED BECAUSE OF AFFAIR WITH
© 2016 MilitaryCorruption.com
In our 16 years online, "fighting for the truth and exposing the corrupt," we have broken many an exclusive story because of our legions of confidential informants on every U.S. military base here in CONUS and around the world. This one is no exception.
Less than a month ago, Army flaks released a cryptic announcement that the two-star general commanding America's famed "Big Red One" - the 1st Infantry Division - had been fired. No reason was given, and the usual boilerplate issued about no further comment because of an "on-going investigation."
Well, as Paul Harvey used to say: "Here's the rest of the story."
AS WITH PETRAEUS, "WOMAN" TROUBLE
We call our deep-cover sources CI's, or confidential informants. They range in rank from NCO's all the way up to bird colonels and Navy captains. We have yet, however, to hear from an active-duty general or admiral who'd be willing to blow the whistle on sex crimes, fraud and corruption. But that's not surprising, since - remember GEN Petraeus and his shameful treatment of CPT Will Swenson (finally awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor?) - people who reach such lofty rank enjoy a "GET OUT OF JAIL FREE" card, no matter what crimes they commit.
The only flag officers that ever end up behind bars are in fictional movies like "GEN" Robert Redford in THE LAST CASTLE. The unwritten rule always has been, and likely will be, DIFFERENT SPANKS FOR DIFFERENT RANKS. When is the last time you saw a top-ranking military officer go to prison? Right.
The Teflon-coated "perfumed prince" Petraeus (no friend of MilitaryCorruption.com, since we exposed him for what he really is on these pages) got away with sharing secret and highly-sensitive military information with his mistress, and ended up with a slap-on-the-wrist - a paltry fine, no reduction in rank, and a fat retirement pension. How would a master sergeant or Army captain have ended up?
THE FACTS FINALLY EMERGE
As for Grigsby, this is part of what we have been told.
We have more information, including the name of the female captain, but - at least for the time being - choose not to publish it. That could change, depending on circumstances. But the identity of the general's girlfriend is so well-known at Fort Riley, we see no need to name her now or give out her initials.
Of course, if we get blowback from once again embarrassing the brass, then we'll take off the gloves and go into sordid details, but MCC is sure the Pentagon is not that stupid. They should let sleeping dogs (who have a big bite) be.
