"WIFE FROM HELL" SHOOTS AIR FORCE
She stands just 5' 2" tall, but every ounce is packed with poison. Claudia, the "Brazilian bombshell," who made a career of fleecing her husbands out of their hard-earned money, has fled to South America after shooting her Air Force Reserve hubby in the back with hollow-point bullets.
Maj. Karl Hoerig would have been well-advised to have done a computer check on his future spouse before he wed "the wife from hell." The unlucky pilot met her on an Internet dating site and tied the knot in July 2005 at Las Vegas.
Unfortunately, the highly-decorated 44 year-old officer, who flew 200 combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan, didn't realize he'd hooked up with a wicked woman until it was too late. "The marriage went downhill from the start," Hoerig moaned to friends in the days before he was killed.
THE MAJOR'S MURDER WAS WELL-PLANNED
The major failed to come to work as a Southwest Airlines pilot and cops were alerted to go to Hoerig's home in Newton Falls, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland. There, a foul odor led them downstairs where the murdered husband's bullet-riddled body was found sprawled under a tarp.
Gone was wife Claudia. In fact, she had split three days before then, on March 12, 2007, when she emptied out her husband's $10,000 bank account and wired $9,000 more to relatives in Brazil.
To add insult to injury, the killer wife used her dead hubby's BMW to get to the airport and his Southwest Airlines employee card to fly free to Sao Paulo, Brazil via Pittsburgh and New York.
The U.S. Marshall Service got a federal warrant charging Mrs. Hoerig with "unlawful flight to avoid prosecution." Cops are trying to extradite the money-grubbing "she-devil," but Brazil is a notorious haven for crooks on the lam. However, because Mrs. Hoerig has dual-citizenship, she may have to return to the States after all.
Investigators tell us Claudia planned the hit out with military precision. First she purchased a .357 Smith and Wesson revolver with a laser site and three boxes of deadly hollow-point ammunition. Then she went to the firing range and for several days practiced her aim.
Sometime during the day of his death, she blasted Hoerig from behind, shooting him in the back of the head and several times in the torso. He didn't have a chance.
MilitaryCorruption.com has learned that Claudia, 42, had been married once before - to a physician in New York City. Dr. Thomas J. Bote said he was married to "the hellion" from 1990-99. He told cops that she was both mentally and physically abusive to him. Her dishonesty about finances caused many a fight. At one point, the doctor said, his former wife had 20 credit cards going and was bleeding him dry.
When the credit card debts piled up to the max, he couldn't stand it any more, and they had a big battle. The mild-mannered doc lost. He told investigators when he confronted her about the wild spending she laughed and presented him with divorce papers.
