EGLIN AFB CAPTAIN ARRESTED
ON SODOMY Maybe it was his wavy brown hair and that big, big "Pepsodent" smile that, in part, enabled Devery Taylor to successfully seduce so many male service members on the Florida panhandle. The boyish-looking 37 year-old Air Force captain - chief of patient administration at Eglin AFB - has been arrested after at least six alleged "victims" came forward to complain they had been raped and sodomized by him. A member of the 96th Medical Support Squadron, the officer was hit with two counts of attempted sodomy, four counts of forcible sodomy, three counts of kidnapping, and one count of "unlawful entry" (no pun intended), an Air Force spokesperson said. Capt. Josie Stewart, a public affairs officer at Eglin, tells MilitaryCorruption.com that Taylor is presently confined under guard at the Air Force base. She says the slender medical officer faces an Article 32 hearing later this month which will determine if the case proceeds to general court-martial. Is the Pope Catholic? With all the bad publicity from this incident, you can be sure Taylor will not get off with just a slap on the wrist. HURLBURT FIELD AIRMAN FIRST
TO GO TO THE OSI
It was a Hurlburt Field airman that first "blew the whistle" on Taylor's alleged sexual assaults. He told OSI agents he'd met the handsome captain at a trendy bar in Fort Walton Beach. After leaving the Helen Bach Bar on Okaloosa Island together earlier this year, the officer took his young friend to his home on Bluefish Drive, where the drugging and alleged rape took place. Informed sources at Hurlburt tell us that apparently "drugging" potential victims before sex was Taylor's "modus operandi" and worked most of the time. "Knock-out pills" may have been used, they say. But the string of assaults came to a quick end once the airman, on TDY to special operations, reported he'd been sodomized. He has now left Florida. Investigators haven't ruled out that even more military personnel might come forward to say they too were seduced by the good-looking captain. Even if no-one else files a complaint, however, observers say "this is just the first" of several sex scandals in the area that may come to light in the the next few months.
