Within an hour of hearing of his dear friend's death, MAJ Glenn MacDonald, USAR (Ret), our esteemed colleague and longtime editor-in-chief here at MilitaryCorruption.com, dictated the words written below from his sickbed in Maine. A 100% disabled (combat-related) former Army combat correspondent and later, civilian newsman in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, MacDonald has suffered declining health in recent weeks and faces his own mortality.

George Esper, 79, was a special friend, the kind made under fire in wartime, experiencing shared danger.

Mac was a 20 year-old NCO when he first met the Associated Press correspondent. Esper and Ann Mariano (first editor of Overseas Weekly in Saigon) had a profound effect on our editor, as well as his journalistic hero, Pulitzer Prize-winning correspondent Peter Arnett.

Luis Walker is in a whole lot of trouble, and if he's convicted at court-martial of just the rape charge, let alone multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault, he's going away to the DB for a very long time.

The Air Force staff sergeant was a MTI (Military Training Instructor) with the 326th Training Squadron at the huge Texas base.

He's accused of having sex with 10 female recruits, all of whom testified against him at his Article 32 preliminary hearing in December and are set to take the stand again once the noncom's court-martial begins.

Why would a well-respected and seemingly stable senior NCO take his own life? That's the question many airmen are asking themselves at Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota in the wake of the tragic death of C/Msgt. Robert Hoyt last weekend.

The 43 year-old native of Des Moines, Iowa who grew up in Vero Beach, Fla. and joined the Air Force 25 years ago, was discovered on base, dead of what some investigators say was a "self-inflicted gunshot wound."

Unlike the much-feared and hated Gen. Gary North and his pampered pet, Jill Metzger, Hoyt was considered a warm, friendly, thoughtful and considerate leader. The family of Chief Hoyt are in the prayers of all of us here at MilitaryCorruption.com.

There was nothing in Hoyt's background to indicate he was suicidal or even depressed.

Fred Trayers was a popular guy. His co-workers at Naval Medical Center, San Diego, thought he was terrific. More than a few females, in and out of uniform, did too. The trouble for him, which proved fatal, was his wife found out about his two-timing and finished him off with a knife.

The Navy doctor and lt. commander, 41, had been romancing Danielle Robbins, a doctor he'd met while both physicians were working aboard the USNS Mercy in August of 2010.

Sparks flew, and soon the couple was involved in a serious relationship. So serious, that Trayers confided to friends he was thinking of leaving his spouse of 19 years and starting over with his new girlfriend.

Back in the days of dictator Joseph Stalin, when someone from the Russian Politburo was "eliminated," few if any details were given out. Usually the first clue that person was off to Siberia or six feet under was when their face was airbrushed out of official photos.

Old Joe couldn't care less what his people thought because he was the BOSS, and as far as he was concerned, they could go pound sand.

In some ways, that's the same attitude the Pentagon takes when they announce senior enlisted and officer firings. Use the same old boilerplate - " . . . have lost confidence in (his/her) ability to lead . . ." yadda, yadda, yadda. But almost always short on details.

The men and women in today's Air Force aren't a bunch of children. They can "handle the truth" if their leaders would trust them with it once in a while.

We don't know if Army MP Brit Wright is going to be punished by the military, but he sure has Forrest County Sheriff Billy McGee upset. Chances are the GI will face civilian charges of filing a false police report.

It seems the "intruder" who blasted him at close range with a handgun at the North Gate of Camp Shelby, Miss. on Jan. 20 was non-other than the soldier's very angry wife. She allegedly was upset about her hubby seeing another woman.

"If she'd fired two inches higher, he would be dead," said McGee. Luckily for the MP, his ballistic vest stopped the slug and the military policeman got out of it, shaken up but unharmed.

It was nearly twelve midnight on Friday, Jan. 20, at Camp Shelby, Miss., when a military policeman was shot while on routine patrol. His bulletproof vest stopped the slug and saved his life.

The unidentified MP was rushed to Forrest County General Hospital as a precaution. He was later released.

Officials at the largest National Guard training facility east of the Mississippi River are tight-lipped about who might have tried to kill the military policeman.

This was Michael Behenna's last chance for justice.

The 28 year-old Army first lieutenant from Oklahoma, who was railroaded into the Leavenworth DB after JAG prosecutors - read persecutors (who need to see the inside of a jail cell themselves) - were caught obstructing justice, got some good news this week when the U.S. Army Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces agreed to study Behenna's claims the judge gave the jury "faulty instructions" and the prosecution deliberately withheld information from the defense that could have seriously undermined their already shaky case.

MilitaryCorruption.com has learned that the court will begin the examination sometime in March. Meanwhile, Behenna faces 13 more years in the slammer for allegedly murdering an Iraqi detainee. He was convicted in 2009 and his original 25 year stretch has been cut back to 15 years. However, objective observers contend the conviction was more political than just, and hope the lieutenant will get a new trial, if not total vindication and release.

Once again, Air Force Academy cadets are under investigation for sex crimes on campus in Colorado Springs.

Well, not all cadets involved. The "victims," who admittedly were so drunk that they couldn't stop the alleged sexual assaults, won't be gigged at all for seriously violating cadet regs which forbid what the PC police call "substantial incapacity" and fraternizing with upper classmen.

Bet the farm on this: none of the women will be charged with anything, and they will likely go on to graduate and become commissioned officers in the U. S. Air Force.

The Navy played this announcement by the book. They "dumped" it late on a Friday afternoon, hoping the disgrace of "Horrible Holly Graf" getting off without punishment of any kind, would be forgotten by the Monday morning news cycle.

Command Master Chief Lee Morrison is the latest enlisted top-ranker to be fired in a year that saw more than 20 commanding officers relieved.

We don't know who is more at fault, the U.S. congressman who should have known better, or the lanky Army Reserve soldier who endorsed Ron Paul on national television in violation of military regulations.

Air Force Staff Sgt. Luis Walker is accused of raping and sexually assaulting at least ten women between October 2010 and June of last year.

All of the "victims" testified against the NCO during an Article 32 hearing recently at Lackland AFB Texas. Neither Walker nor his civilian attorney attended the proceedings. They waived that right.
