DRUM CHAPLAIN COURT-MARTIALED
It was perhaps the most bizarre court-martial in the history of Fort Drum, New York.
A Southern Baptist chaplain was convicted of adultery and making death threats against his "sex slave" - a British woman who shared the padre's bed with the officer's obedient wife.
CPT John Lau, a pudgy 50 year-old, who preached against adultery on Sunday, may get a dose of "hellfire and damnation" himself as he heads to jail for the next five months. The over-age captain also gets a dishonorable discharge and loss of all pay and allowances.
BOTH FEET IN MOUTH - TOP GENERAL
We're not going to get into the briar patch, debating whether or not gays should serve in the military. But we guess many have, and are sure more than a few fought bravely and died for their country. Some are still dying in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Probably Marine Gen. Peter Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, while self-absorbed with his own piety, wouldn't stoop so low as to have those horrid "homosexuals" disinterred from Arlington National Cemetery if he could walk "row upon row" among the graves and ID them all, but he sure has shown at times he can be very stupid.
Getting into a debate about "immoral" behavior and acting "holier than thou," doesn't help Pace's new boss, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, one damn bit. All the general has done is cause a new distraction and highlighted the hypocrisy that has long existed in the Marine Corps.
FORCE ACADEMY GRAD DODGES BULLET
Chances of surviving a rape charge, much less multiple counts at court-martial, are either slim or none. The dirty secret of the so-called military "justice" system is that nearly 98% of all service members get "convicted" whether they are guilty or not. That's just two per cent less than the result in a totalitarian regime. If American civilians were "found guilty" at that pace, we'd need to build prisons on every street corner to house the inmate population.
Capt. David T. "Tom" Still dodged the bullet all right. The Air Force Academy graduate incredibly was acquitted on the rape and attempted rape charges. He ended up with only a reprimand and $4,000 fine on a separate charge. That's a far cry from the dishonorable discharge and jail time the prosecution sought to hang around his neck.
The officer openly wept as his mother hugged him in the Kunsan AFB courtroom. Retired Air Force Col. Frank Spinner certainly is a first-rate defense attorney, but Still has to be incredibly lucky not to have ended up in Leavenworth. Just being accused of rape is usually all it takes to destroy a man's life and military career. And not all accusations are true.
A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE . . ." - PERVERT
A sicko drill sergeant who got his kicks photographing bare-chested recruits so he could "document their physical development" made some of his victims dress up in a spandex "Superman" outfit before having sex, CID sources say.
Staff Sgt. Edmundo Estrada, who practiced his perversions at Ft. Eustis, Va., faces court-martial in April and is charged with "indecent assault, having inappropriate relationships with trainees, and cruelty and maltreatment of subordinates," an Army spokesman said.
The 35 year-old noncom from Hampton, Va. allegedly performed sexual acts - "Hello, Monica and Bill" - on the intimidated recruits while they wore a costume similar to the getup from the famed comic book and TV character"Superman."
AT CANNON AFB CONVICTED OF
Hey, forget about the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. The Air Farce keeps us so busy with "sex crime" stories, we could run MilitaryCorruption.com just on them.
When is the Pentagon going to take a long, hard look at the so-called USAF "leadership" and make some much-needed changes?
This time it's a captain with the 27th Medical Operations Squadron at Cannon AFB in New Mexico.
MAJOR AT IWAKUNI MCAS GETS
Remember the scene from that famous movie FROM HERE TO ETERNITY where First Sgt. Warden, played magnificently by the late, great Burt Lancaster, slips over to his captain's house while the officer is away and makes out with his commander's wife? The cool-as-a-cucumber spouse, portrayed by Deborah Kerr, reminds the "top kick" that a rock pile at Leavenworth awaits him if they are caught.
Well, that was then, and now is today. A similar case at Iwakuni MCAS has resulted in the top enlisted man on that Marine installation getting a "slap-on-the-wrist" after it was revealed he'd had a lengthy affair with his major's wife while the field-grade officer was off fighting in Iraq.
The major's cheap, slut of a wife, who (we are told) seduced the sergeant major in the first place, showed her capacity for deceit when she got her nose out of joint and telephoned Tarazon's wife to tell her of the ongoing "romance." We hear she was all set to rat out her lover to the Command when the E-9 decided to come forward and admit the "terrible lapse in judgment."
SALUTE CHAPLAIN GORDON KLINGENSCHMITT
How many men have such courage of conviction that they would risk losing their military career and pension and benefits over a matter of principle? Damn few. Yet Navy LT Gordon Klingenschmitt paid that heavy price this week for refusing to compromise his faith.
The 39 year-old Air Force Academy graduate had plenty of enemies in the "good old boys" club of the Navy Chaplains Corps. Most of the Catholic priests there felt Klingenschmitt was "some sort of religious wacko" who needed to be reined in.
The officer's 18-day hunger strike in front of the White House to protest his being prevented from praying "in Jesus' name" irked the top Navy brass. They bided their time to strike, but now they have, and the chaplain has been involuntarily discharged.
PULLS THE TRIGGER - ARMY SECRETARY
What goes around, comes around, and for chrome-domed Frances Harvey, the political hack MilitaryCorruption.com has had in its sites for some time now, revenge was sweet. Less than 24 hours after Harvey canned Maj. Gen. George Weightman in an effort to take the stink off himself for the Walter Reed Hospital patient care scandal, the Army secretary got the boot! Congratulations, Defense Secretary Gates. Glad to see you can "pull the trigger."
Harvey was always arrogant and nasty, although no one could approach the levels of hubris his former mentor, Donald Rumsfeld had. Now Gen. Weightman can hoist a cold brew in the air and say: "Sayanora, pal. You thought you'd save your sorry butt by firing me, and now you got the axe yourself."
But the bloodletting is not over. Or at least it shouldn't be. MilitaryCorruption.com - we received a large outpouring of congrats from our readers in the hours after Harvey's dismissal was announced - wants everyone responsible for the mess at Walter Reed to get what's coming to them.

MURDER CHARGE DROPPED
The bizarre case of lovesick Navy Capt. Lisa Nowak, the NASA astronaut - dubbed "astro-nut" by late-night TV comedians - has taken yet another strange turn.
Despite protests by local police, an Orlando, Fla. judge has tossed out attempted murder charges against the 43 year-old space traveler. Now she faces still serious but lesser charges of intent to kidnap, attempt to inflict bodily harm, burglary and assault and battery.
The troubled mom of twins, estranged from her husband back in Houston, Tex., remains free on bond. She must wear an electronic monitoring device around her ankle to prevent possible flight.
FIFTY YEARS IN THE SLAMMER - EGLIN AFB CAPTAIN CONVICTED ON "SEX" CHARGES GETS NO MERCY FROM COURT-MARTIAL JURY - SHAMEFUL DAY FOR AIR FORCE AS OTHERS RECALL "SLAP ON THE WRIST" FOR TOP JAG GEN FISCUS AND CROOKED DEPUTY COL MURPHY WHO LIED ABOUT STATUS OF LAW LICENSE - WAS DISBARRED IN TWO STATES - OSI AND TOP BRASS CAN COMMIT CRIMES WITH IMPUNITY - FEAR NO PUNISHMENT
Read our previous three stories on the disgraceful court-martial proceedings at Eglin AFB where the burden of proof was unnecessary and OSI bully boys and a hard-charging female JAG violated Capt. Devery Taylor's rights and got away with it.
The 38 year-old officer was given fifty years in the slammer - in effect, a death sentence - if he doesn't get shanked in the shower before his time is up.
Let's see now, there was no proof that "date rape" drugs were used. None was found. The "victims" were mostly so drunk they couldn't remember "exactly" what happened, and of course they were all "macho men" heterosexuals. They must be, why they'd never do those awful things otherwise - not unless they were FORCED to. Yeah. Right. That's the ticket.
TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE
- CAPT DEVERY TAYLOR
If the Air Force thinks it's "rehabilitated" it's image with the travesty of justice that's just taken place at Eglin AFB they are sadly mistaken. Devery Taylor is no angel. He admitted on the witness stand he is gay. But no rational person can say he deserves life in prison for the so-called "crimes" he is accused of committing.
The USAF captain's "victims" never did fully explain what they were doing in the company of an obviously homosexual officer. They had to know he was male, not female. Drinking to excess, socializing and fraternization. Hmmmm. Could it be these poor lambs were so innocent and naive that they were shocked to find out "sex" was going on after they allegedly "woke up?" Or were they trying to "cover up" their own proclivities by claiming they were, gasp, "forced" into such beastly behavior? Going to jail or staying in the service obviously was at stake here.
GANG THAT COULDN'T SHOOT STRAIGHT"
Well-known newspaper columnist and author Jimmy Breslin once penned a best-selling book called "THE GANG THAT COULDN'T SHOOT STRAIGHT." He might as well have been writing about the bumbling OSI (Office of Special Investigations) and prosecutor Maj. Kathleen Reder's inept case against Air Force Capt. Devery Taylor now being played out in a courtroom at Eglin AFB Florida.
Top-notch defense attorney Martin Regan Jr. (see related stories box below for earlier articles on this case) has made the prosecution look pathetic indeed when he exposed OSI's deliberate refusal to grant Taylor his Miranda rights when the officer asked for the questioning to stop and he be provided with an attorney.
Some five hours of the interrogation tapes were played in the hushed courtroom, and, at the end of the spectacle, Judge Thomas Cumbie sided with the defense, saying the Air Force OSI investigators either needed better training or an "admonishment."
AT START OF SODOMY COURT
On paper it looked like a slam-dunk. An Air Force captain had been arrested after being accused of drugging and then date-raping several male victims. At least four persons said they'd been sodomized after something was slipped in their drinks while socializing off-post with the effeminate-looking medical officer.
Capt. Devery Taylor was hit with four counts of forcible rape; three counts of kidnapping; two counts of attempted sodomy; and - apparently the gumshoes failed to see the irony on the wording of the next charge - "illegal entry." All that, if proven, would be sure to send the unfortunate officer to Leavenworth for perhaps the rest of his life.
"Woo hoo! We got a good one here," said the OSI sleuths as they licked their chops, starting to gather "evidence" in what they thought would be an open and shut case. But somewhere between the start of the investigation in the summer of 2005 and now, the once solid-looking case started to fall apart.
