COURT" AT CAMP CASEY, KOREA
you're a male soldier, especially an NCO, at Camp Casey, Korea and a
female trooper - for whatever reason - falsely accuses you of "rape"
or "sexual harassment," crawl in the body bag and zip it up
- you're already D.O.A.
CHAPLAIN AT CAMP ZAMA,
JAPAN HIT WITH
It was a most unlikely couple indeed. There sitting close together in an easy chair in a Kansas City, Mo. hotel room, where intimacies later occurred, was a dark-haired, attractive young woman and a bald, Elmer-Fudd look alike, 45 year-old Army chaplain Mike Myers.
The aging captain was grinning ear-to-ear at his good fortune. What smiling and vivacious Joanne Ruffner didn't know at the time, was Myers had pulled an elaborate hoax on her, apparently to get her into bed.
The lover-boy didn't let on he was a "man-of-the-cloth" and married with two teen-aged children. His story was he was an intelligence officer soon to be posted to Iraq. Ruffner has turned over to cops dozens of e-mails, written between 2005 and 2006, professing adoration and promising marriage. In fact, the two-timing chaplain had even set a date for the nuptials. It was all a cruel charade, however, as Ruffner, a 33 year-old divorcee, learned when the man of her dreams wrote her from Camp Zama, Japan last year and admitted he had a wife and kids.
NAVY LT COMMANDER - INSTRUCTOR
The Navy is faced with a unique
problem. What to do with a female officer - reportedly an instructor
at the Naval Academy - who has worked as a part-time prostitute for
infamous "D.C. Madam" Deborah Jeane Palfrey?
POLICE LTC AND PRISON
The Army is being tight-lipped on what they will release on this story, but our sources say the U.S. military effort in Iraq is about to get a major "black eye" if indications are correct that an Army field-grade officer is guilty of "aiding the enemy."
It is alleged Lt. Col. Wil liam H. Steele provided an unmonitored cell phone to detainees in his prison at Camp Cropper, near the Baghdad airport. Cropper has replaced the infamous Abu Hara compound as the main detention facility in the capital area.
The offenses, which include sex charges and failure to obey orders, are said to have occurred between October 2005 and February 2006. An Army spokesperson said Steele is being held in a jail cell in Kuwait pending an Article 32 (similar to civilian grand jury) hearing.
AT HURLBURT FIELD - SERGEANT
When SSgt. Dan Roberson was hit with "rape" and "child molestation" charges by his bitter ex-wife (engaged in a no-holds-barred battle for custody of the couple's two daughters) the OSI thought they had a "slam dunk." After all, when is the last time anyone ever heard of anyone in the military being "acquitted" in a situation like that? "Political correctness" is the law of the land, and in today's super-charged atmosphere, an accusation is as good as a guilty verdict, nearly every time.
According to the military's
own statistics, 98% of all cases brought to court-martial result in
conviction. That's just two per cent less than certain totalitarian
regimes elsewhere in the world. If that ratio prevailed in the civilian
sector, we'd need a new jail on every corner just to hold the inmates.
AIR FORCE ACADEMY PROFESSOR
Maj. Reinaldo Canton thought he was talking with a 15 year-old girl via his laptop computer, but he couldn't have been more mistaken. The "teenager" turned out to be an FBI agent running a sting, looking for child predators. The Air Force officer was stunned when he was cuffed by cops and led away from a Utah shopping mall where he'd agreed to meet the girl "for sex."
But what he really intended, Canton told police, was to just "talk" to the girl and warn her that meeting people via computer could be "scary." He said his only intention was to give her good, fatherly advice, not to go to an Ogden hotel room for sex, as he had e-mailed her earlier.
The former assistant professor of Spanish at the Air Force Academy waived his Miranda rights and talked freely with arresting officers. He swore up and down his intentions were honorable. His wife backs him up.
"WIFE FROM HELL" SHOOTS AIR FORCE
She stands just 5' 2" tall, but every ounce is packed with poison. Claudia, the "Brazilian bombshell," who made a career of fleecing her husbands out of their hard-earned money, has fled to South America after shooting her Air Force Reserve hubby in the back with hollow-point bullets.
Maj. Karl Hoerig would have been well-advised to have done a computer check on his future spouse before he wed "the wife from hell." The unlucky pilot met her on an Internet dating site and tied the knot in July 2005 at Las Vegas.
Unfortunately, the highly-decorated 44 year-old officer, who flew 200 combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan, didn't realize he'd hooked up with a wicked woman until it was too late. "The marriage went downhill from the start," Hoerig moaned to friends in the days before he was killed.
OWENS EXPELLED FROM NAVAL ACADEMY
It's all over for onetime football great Lamar Owens. He's been expelled from the Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md. with no degree and must pay back at least $90,000 of the cost of his college education.
The Owens case has resulted in much controversy and media attention due to the fact Owens is African-American and some of his supporters feel he's been singled out for heavier punishment because of his race. His detractors said he had disgraced the Academy and deserved to get the boot.
As of press time, MilitaryCorruption.com doesn't know if Owens will appeal his punishment to the Board for Corrections of Naval Records. He also can seek help from members of Congress and even sue the government to get his earned four-year college degree.
ABSOLUTE OUTRAGE! - GEN. GARY NORTH
The shameless audacity of it all even took our breath away! Disregarding the report of his own investigating officer on the ground in Afghanistan, Lt. Gen. Gary North, with the stroke of his pen, has destroyed the careers of two fine Air Force officers on the altar of political expediency.
We invite our readers to go to the "related stories box" at the bottom of this article to get all the details, but to sum up, brave investigating officer, Lt. Col. Leslea Pickle, wrote a report that absolutely cleared Lt. Cols. Gary Brown and Chris Hall from any charges of misconduct in a "road rage" incident involving an out-of-control "Blackwater" contractor just outside Kabul.
North, commander of the 9th Air Force, recently visited Manas Air Force Base in Kyrgyzstan. We wonder if anyone dared mention the name of Maj. Jill Metzger, who - if you believe her fantastic tale of a "bomb" in her back pocket and abduction and escape - is either a heroine of historic proportions and deserves to be highly decorated, or a liar and fraud who's escaped justice due to her fame (two-time Air Force Marathon winner); family connections (doting daddy is a retired colonel); and her young OSI officer hubby.
AIRMAN "HIT ON" OFFICER'S TEENAGE
Senior Airman James Bland admits he has a problem - a very serious one. The married father of two young children likes to "hit on" teenage girls.
During his general court-martial at Misawa AFB in Japan, the enlisted man acknowledged "…because of my actions, I've lost my military career and almost my family."
The former member of the 35th Security Forces Squadron got in big trouble when he started hanging around a school bus stop near the Circle K off base. There, Bland said he'd "check out" the girls. The one that caught his eye, a 14 year-old, turned out to be an officer's daughter.
OFFICERS CLEARED IN AFGHAN "ROAD
The "good news" is, assault and other specious charges brought against Air Force Lt. Colonels Chris Hall and Gary Brown have been dropped. The "bad news" is, prosecutors may have broken the law trying to railroad the two officers into a jail cell at Leavenworth. Of course that's GOOD news, if they get punished for it. We'll see.
MilitaryCorruption.com has learned an Article 32 report on the September 2006 incident near Kabul, Afghanistan, where the officers were accused of "drawing down" their guns on Blackwater USA contractor Jimmy Bergeron, has uncovered possible witness tampering, altered documents, attempted bribery and falsified "evidence."
In their "the end justifies the means" goal to gain a conviction against the innocent Air Force pilots, the facts and truth be damned, corrupt military prosecutors tried to frame Hall and Brown using clearly illegal and underhanded tactics.
WERE ON HIM LIKE A PACK OF DOGS"
A frightened member of the trouble-plagued 66th Transportation Company in Kaiserslauten, Germany pleaded with an Army officer to "do something" about gang activity in the unit, but the unidentified investigator did a whitewash 15-6, claiming there was "insufficient evidence" such a thing was going on.
A few months later, SGT Juwan Johnson died, the result of a savage beating administered by members of the Chicago-based "Gangster Disciples." Some of the people charged in this horrible attack were the same ones PVT Nick Pasquale reported to the Army when he sought the earlier investigation. The soldier even took photographs of gang graffiti on barracks doors and provided lists of members in the unit, but the wimpy and "politically-correct" Army, perhaps afraid of being labeled "racist," just looked the other way. Ironically, the victim of the assault is an African-American soldier from Baltimore, Md.
Pasquale sleeps at night with a knife nearby and a lock on his door. He fears he may be killed. The soldier has been threatened several times but vows not to go into the less-than-secure "witness protection program." He says if he is killed, he doesn't want people wondering what really happened. "I don't want my mother going through what Juwan's mom went through, trying to get answers from the Army."
SON - WEST POINT CADET - BUSTED
With all that one has to do to gain admission to the Point, you would think young officers in the making wouldn't risk it all by stupidly using or selling drugs. But that's just what's happened in the latest scandal to engulf the institution.
No less than a three-star general's son has been busted on drug charges. He's among six cadets - so far - to be nailed using cocaine. They were caught during a routine urine test. And one of them, Jordan Yeargain, just court-martialed on charges of using "coke" and selling it to fellow cadets, is headed for the federal penitentiary for a year, plus dismissal from the Army.
WAS SUICIDE," SAYS CORONER IN GUNSHOT
If you can believe Kitsap County Coroner Greg Sandstrom's findings, and we don't have any reason to dispute them at this time, Navy Capt. G. Lindsay Perkins, Jr., the commander of Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound ended his life with a bullet to the brain.
Investigators found the four-striper's body in his quarters, a handgun with one spent shell laying next to the dead officer's corpse. Initial reports were "no sign of foul play."
But speculation is wild at Kitsap Naval Station in Bremerton, Wash. as to just why such a powerful officer as Perkins would kill himself. Many think it had something to do with the sensational arrest of the base's top enlisted man, Command Master Chief Edward Scott, on attempted child rape charges.
MASTER CHIEF BUSTED IN BREMERTON
It was early in the morning, 0500 to be exact, when the senior enlisted man at Naval Station Kitsap entered a Bremerton, Wash. hotel looking for sex before the start of the duty day.
But this wasn't some $100 hooker he was coming to see. Command Master Chief Edward Scott is alleged to have anticipated a sick "get-together" with a mother and her 12 year-old twins! However, Scott was in for a unpleasant surprise. The "mom" was really an undercover cop, and the youngsters didn't exist.
For the past month, local police and agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) had been reading Scott's e-mail to what the master chief didn't realize was a sex crimes investigator.
