THE KILLER COLONEL FROM CARLISLE
BARRACKS - WHAT LED UP TO FATAL
FIGHT HOME COMPUTER KEY EVIDENCE -
LTC KNEW MILITARY CAREER WAS OVER
©MilitaryCorruption.com 2002
Accused killer LTC David P. Bartlett
Jr., charged with the brutal beating death of his wife Suzanne at Carlisle Barracks
last month, is alleged to have flown into a rage after his wife discovered something
embarrassing on his home computer screen, informed sources tell
MilitaryCorruption.com.
Rumors have been flying around the Barracks and off-post in Carlisle, Pa. as
to what exactly that was. We know - but in the interest of a fair trial - we
will only say what Suzanne found greatly upset her and she confronted
her husband. Our CIs (confidential informants) tell us THAT led to the
fatal fight in which the popular petite mother of three was beaten
and strangled.
BARTLETT KNEW MILITARY CAREER WAS OVER
As his undistinguished military career sputtered
to a close seven years in grade as an LTC and passed over twice for promotion
Bartlett was due to leave the Army this September. The 46 year-old New
Hampshire native was trying to land a teaching job at Carlisle High School.
He also told friends he was seeking a fulltime position at Harrisburg Community
College. But, up until the time of wife Suzannes murder, Bartlett had
been unsuccessful.
Both civilians and military at Carlisle Barracks tell MilitaryCorruption.com
that the light colonel was never smiling, always serious,
and wound up very tight. In contrast, his wife was well-liked, out-going
and very popular with all who knew her. She was a loving and devoted mother
to her three children. Suzanne was Bartletts second wife.
We know that Bartlett had missed a lot of work in the three months prior to
the events of March 20. Some colleagues at Collins Hall were not surprised when
speculation quickly centered on the husband as murder suspect after Suzannes
body was fished out of the creek near the bowling alley.
Just as we predicted here before any other media, the court-martial will be
held at Ft. Meade, Md. CPT Matthew J. MacLean of the Ft. Belvoir, Va. TDS (Trial
Defense Service) is defense counsel.
