What's going on here?
The third top leader to be fired this year at a NATO multi-national medical facility in Afghanistan has just been given his walking papers. The Navy isn't giving out many specifics just yet.
Walking the plank is CAPT Kurt Henry. He was the XO of the med facility, located at Kandahar Airfield.
We are told that the relief has something to do with a "sexual harassment" charge. Also, Henry reportedly came up short in an adverse command climate survey.
The officer was on his way home from deployment when the word came down he had been fired.
The new executive officer is Navy CDR Lon Thompson. He will be acting XO, a source said.
Henry is the third top leader to walk the plank in 2015. Previously, med facility commander CAPT Maria Majar and former CMC Hospital Corpsman Shane Reese were also shown the door. (See related stories box below).
