USS WILLIAMS RECENTLY RETURNED FROM
SIX-MONTH CRUISE IN MED AND ARABIAN SEAS
There was plenty of "love" or "lust" on the USS James E. Williams when the tin can spent a six month cruise in the Mediterranean and Arabian Seas earlier this year.
You almost needed a score card to see who was sleeping with whom. An atmosphere of open sex and fraternization existed on the ship and MilitaryCorruption.com has learned the DE's former XO, (name deleted for obvious reasons), may have "blown the whistle" to authorities.
That officer has been reassigned pronto to another destroyer, also in an executive officer position.
But his rumored report to the brass and NCIS has resulted in his boss, CMDR Paul Marquis, and top enlisted sailor, Command Master Chief Timothy Youell, losing their jobs and probably Naval careers.
BOTH SKIPPER AND COMMAND MASTER CHIEF
NOT IMPLICATED IN SEX ACTIVITY THEMSELVES
We want to emphasize, sources tell us that neither Marquis and Youell were directly involved in the sexual hi-jinks, however, they were axed for a perceived "lack of leadership."
The five chief petty officers aboard the Williams, all male, who were accused of "fraternization" and more with a half dozen junior enlisted females, are being processed out of the Navy as you read these words.
As usual, all the females will not be punished, as the males involved were supervisors and senior in rank.
AT LEAST ONE "SEXUAL ASSAULT" CHARGE HANGING IN AIR
There may be more fallout coming from the trouble aboard the Williams.
A spokesman for the Navy's Fleet Force Command says at least one charge of "sexual assault" is being investigated at this time. That could result in court-martial charges for someone "down the line."
Marquis, commissioned in 1990 out of the Naval ROTC program, has served at the Pentagon and Naval Academy. Youell is a 25-year veteran. Both have been reassigned to "administrative duties" while the Navy decides what to do with them.
We're betting they will be out of the service in a matter of weeks. But we think that punishment might be too much under the circumstances. As for the CPO's, they can hit the bricks anytime. They knew what they were doing was wrong and apparently thought they could get away with it.
