A PLEA FOR JUSTICE ON BEHALF OF THE
MEN AND WOMEN OF THE U.S. AIR FORCE
AN "OPEN LETTER" TO CHIEF OF STAFF
GEN. NORTON SCHWARTZ
"All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing," wrote Edmund Burke.
You, sir, as the new chief of staff of the United States Air Force, still have a high reservoir of hope and respect among the rank-and-file.
We at MilitaryCorruption.com understand and appreciate the heavy responsibility before you to clean up the mess left behind by fired and disgraced former chief of staff, Gen. T. Michael Moseley.
Our prayers and best wishes go with you as you undertake this monumental task.
METZGER COVER-UP A "CANCER ON THE AIR FORCE"
With all that is on your plate, general, there is a cancer on the Air Force that cannot be ignored. Justice in this matter must not be postponed.
For two years, the special treatment given pampered and protected Maj. Jill Metzger has eaten away and eroded morale among the vast majority of Air Force men and women who serve our country with honor and integrity.
The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) should equally apply to all members of the military, regardless of rank or who they may be.
Our intensive investigation into the so-called "kidnapping" of Metzger two years ago in Kyrgyzstan, leads us to believe that not only is she a liar, but someone who, until now, has avoided punishment for her serious misconduct.
AN OSI AGENT WHO WORKED THE METZGER CASE REVEALS THE TRUTH
A courageous OSI agent whose conscience led that person to contact us about the Metzger cover-up has risked severe retaliation and retribution for revealing the truth of what happened in that investigation which, until now, has been withheld from the public.
"The word came down. Lay off her. She has someone big (a certain general) by the balls," the agent told us.
We also confirmed that Metzger failed a polygraph test and had been "deceptive" and "contradictory" in her dealings with investigators.
No "kidnappers" were ever found or identified. No "ransom demand" was ever made. And Metzger's unbelievable tale of "derring-do" - overpowering a guard in the third day of her "captivity" and running barefoot 30 or 40 miles to freedom - rivals "the dog ate my homework."
But this is no joke. If Metzger actually performed such successful "escape and evasion," she should be decorated with the Air Force Cross. However, if it turns out she has lied and "scammed the system," Metzger deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the UCMJ.
The obvious fact she has not been given any medal for her "escape and evasion" in the more than two years that have passed since her great adventure in Kyrgyzstan, indicates to us no citation for an award would hold up to scrutiny.
CONVENE AN ARTICLE 32 HEARING TO SEE IF
COURT-MARTIAL IS WARRANTED
We believe Metzger should face an Article 32 hearing to decide is she should face court-martial for the following possible crimes committed while she was deployed to Manas AFB in Kyrgyzstan:
AWOL (three days)
Disobeying a standing order (not to separate oneself from other U.S. personnel while off-base in Bishkek).
Making a false official statement
Fraternization
Adultery
Conduct unbecoming an officer
ANY "NON-CELEBRITY" WOULD HAVE BEEN PUNISHED
Anyone who is not a "celebrity" like Jill Metzger - two-time winner of the Air Force Marathon; daughter of a well-connected retired USAF colonel; and wife of an OSI agent, would not have escaped punishment or avoided any disciplinary action.
What's more, Metzger has appeared to have "profited" from her perfidy.
How many genuinely wounded and/or disabled veterans, home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan,
have been so fortunate to have their real injuries rated at 100% from the very start?
Metzger did, allegedly for PTSD.
We know brave Air Force personnel who've lost a leg or a limb and they never started out with the maximum "disability" payment as lucky Jill did.
"DISABLED" JILL RUNS IN MARATHON - DISRESPECTS REAL DISABLED VETS
Gen. Schwartz, if you had a son or daughter tonight at Walter Reed with a shot up leg or a disfigured face, or even one in the psychiatric ward, suffering from the hell he or she had been put through, how would you feel to know that arrogant Jill, self-centered and perhaps scamming a top-dollar "disability" pension, was disrespecting your son and all genuinely disabled vets everywhere?
Isn't there a regulation against what she did? At the very least, if Metzger has had a miraculous "healing" from her total PTSD - a condition an Air Force nurse told us would prevent most people from "walking" a mile on their meds, much less running 25 more to the cheers of the crowd - the Air Force should announce it as such and suspend her pension.
If Jill had any integrity at all, she would have voluntarily waived receipt of all that easy money in exchange for showing off to the world her prowess as a long-distance runner.
RANK-AND-FILE ANGRY AT METZGER COVER-UP AND FAVORITISM
We have received over 1000 e-mails to date from angry and insulted Air Force members protesting the favored treatment Metzger has received and the arrogance of her Sept. 20 "slap-in-the-face" to real disabled veterans everywhere.
Is it true that the PTSD payoff was "hush-money," and the "diagnosis" Jill got was arranged, thanks to a high-ranking general who wanted to be sure to keep the pampered one happy and perhaps "quiet" about what may have transpired between them in the past?
If Metzger has compromised a flag officer or officers, don't you think, general, you should at least investigate it?
We suggest you call in Gen. Gary North and OSI boss Gen. Dana Simmons, in particular, and order them to tell you the truth about the Metzger mess.
If you do not, if silence continues and this obvious double-standard is allowed to continue and fester, it will seriously damage your reputation and ability to lead.
WHY WE SEND THIS TO GEN SCHWARTZ AS AN "OPEN LETTER"
Please excuse us for taking this very public route to send you this letter. However, if we mailed it to you at the Pentagon, we are sure some of your staff would make sure you never got to see it. Thus we had to take this extraordinary means. Our apologies.
MilitaryCorruption.com, which survived a criminal hacking two weeks ago that you might have heard about, gets more than two million hits a month. We are read on almost every U.S. military base in CONUS and overseas. Each day, readers from more than 40 nations "click on" to see what we have to say.
This letter will be reproduced by the thousands and sent to congressmen, senators, members of veteran organizations, and the media.
It is true that you can count on Air Force TIMES and other such "mainstream" media outlets to ignore and not report what we say here, but know that a large number of the men and women, officers and enlisted, who serve under your command now know that you have been put "on notice" to do something soon about the Metzger scandal.
Time is short. We will be watching. As long as there is freedom of the press and the First Amendment in this country, MilitaryCorruption.com will not be silenced, shut down or "go away."
And as we wrote at the top of this letter, we hope you prevent this "evil" from continuing and have the courage and honor to "do the right thing."
Thank you.
