MOSELEY'S FEET TO THE FIRE
Tempers are getting short and morale is low at Moody AFB Georgia as men and women in blue, officers and enlisted, contemplate the possibility that the "Paris Hilton of the Air Force" will get a "sweetheart deal" as she slips out the back door next month on her requested "retirement."
That's right - we said retirement. And that's what it says on the documents we have copies of right here in front of us. Perhaps all that bilge that AP and the Air Force TIMES swallowed and published about a "18-mos. leave of absence" is meant as a smokescreen.
Mommy Metzger went on and on about how her darling daughter was "frustrated" because the mean, old Air Force didn't station her on the same base as her OSI-agent "hubby." Why she even said at the end of the 18-month hiatus, Jill - that's right, JILL - would "decide" if SHE wanted to "remain" in the USAF. Well, that's just precious, as if Maj. Metzger is going to want to stick around.
AIR FORCE RANK-AND-FILE DOUBT VERACITY OF JILL'S "GREAT ADVENTURE"
Not when the vast majority of the Air Force thinks she lied or was deceptive about her "heroics" in Kyrgyzstan. The top brass will remain silent and lie and cover-up to protect their "poster girl," who after all, is a two-time winner of the Air Force Marathon; has a retired colonel daddy; and a youthful husband and father-in-law, both whom belong to the hated and much-feared OSI (Office of Special Investigations). But you can be sure of this, and Jill knows it only too well, the rank-and-file will cringe if they are forced to serve under and salute an officer whom most of them don't respect.
Jill shouldn't worry. There's a silver lining to every cloud. Just ask Lt. Kelly Flynn; PFC Je$$ica Lynch; and former Brig Gen. Janice Karpinski (now busted back to colonel). There's big money in those book and TV movie deals. And there's always "Oprah" and "The View." The mainstream media, which collectively looked the other way - got to remain "politically correct," you know, and never criticize a female, no matter what she does - will give Metzger a free pass. Just as the Air Force has.
Of course if someone else, preferably male and certainly "unconnected," was caught disobeying orders; going AWOL; making false statements; committing adultery; fraternization; engaging in "conduct unbecoming an officer;" instigating an international incident; and costing the U.S. taxpayers millions more dollars for the annual rental of Manas AFB from the justifiably insulted Kyrgz people, we kind of suspect HE would already be in a jail cell at Leavenworth.
We may never know for sure if Jill lied, because the Air Force isn't about to tell. In fact, they and the Pentagon flacks have been deceptive right up to press time, telling inquiring media that they "couldn't comment" because Metzger's case was an "ongoing investigation." That's nice, in that, USAF regulations prohibit any active duty member from retiring or processing for retirement (Jill already has her date "locked in" for July) if there is any "investigation in progress."
Maybe the mainstream media is willing to accept that deliberate disinformation and "go away," but we don't and we won't.
Not when the possibility of Jill scoring a 100% PTSD "disability" pension looms on the horizon. That's nearly $3000 a month tax-free for a 34 year-old woman who has never been in combat. That should outrage every wounded and disabled veteran in this country! Especially the young men and women returning to the USA from Iraq and Afghanistan with arms and legs blown off, hands mangled, or faces disfigured from IED explosions. They will spend years "in the system," trying to reach 100% rating. But not Jill. If that is her terms for leaving an Air Force career before qualifying for regular retirement (normally 20 years of service), or a "gift" from the brass as she goes out the door, we feel such a "deal" is an outrage and totally unacceptable.
Frankly, Jill, we suspect you were less than truthful about your "great adventure" last year. Even a ten-year old would be dubious at some of the wild details you described. Why, "the dog ate my homework" is more credible than your tale of "derring-do." So count your lucky stars you weren't court-martialed and just forego the pension, OK? You won't need it. And we are sure there are plenty of deserving vets who do!
Pass up that "bennie," and we might just have some respect for you. In fact, if you publicly declare you won't accept any pension, MilitaryCorruption.com will donate $100,000 to the charity of your choice, if you allow us to interview you on our pages. You can be assured we will not censor anything you say. Tell us all about that "bomb" in your back pocket and how you conked that bad guy on the head and ran barefoot for 40 miles after three days of captivity. We can't wait to hear all about it.
DAV GOES A.W.O.L. - "WE DON'T WANT TO GET INVOLVED" THEY SAY
The "leadership" of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) in Washington - our editor-in-chief is a Life Member - apparently isn't interested in the veracity of Jill's story or whether she should get a 100% PTSD pension when others go without.
We spoke with a functionary named Isaac Abernathy at headquarters and explained in detail our request that DAV ask the Air Force brass to explain why Jill is slated for a "disability" pension. After all, DAV is in the business of fighting for the rights of legitimate vets and deserving, disabled military members. Surely we wouldn't get the "brush off" from them. But we did.
"We do not choose to get involved," was the bureaucratic double-speak from Abernathy. So we promised to write him up. Here it is, Isaac. We hope the leadership at American Legion, VFW, Vietnam Veterans of America, and your boss, all take note.
A MESSAGE TO GEN. MOSELEY - "TELL THE TRUTH"
Ever since Gen. T. Michael Moseley took over as Air Force chief-of-staff, we've had reports from the rank-and-file that he is "a two-faced phony." Now, that could be just inaccurate grumbling from malcontents. Who knows? Moseley likes to preach about "core values" all the time. Maybe he's sincere. But when you have a barrel of fish like the Metzger scandal, it's hard not to wonder if the extensive "cover-up" that's been going on now since September of 2006, reaches all the way to the general's desk.
In case it does, please, Gen. Moseley - come clean and tell the truth. It will restore your credibility and strengthen your chances of hanging on to your job. Candor is always better in the long run than cover-up. Because, if you are involved, and we can prove it, we'll hang this one right around your neck! And you'll be the one putting in "retirement" papers.
So please show respect for the men and women in the U.S. Air Force who've been waiting most of a year to know what really happened to Maj. Metzger. Tell them the truth. Thank you.
HER "STORY" NEVER PASSED THE SMELL TEST
We could write a book about all the holes in Jill Metzger's "abduction" story where, allegedly, she was snatched on September 5, 2006 from the TzUM department store in Bishkek, Kyrgzystan. But we won't. Not enough time, or space. Suffice it to say, we will examine just a FEW of the serious problems with her incredible tale and ask you to use your common sense in deciding if you want to believe this stuff.
First of all, store cameras (we have seen the photographs) show Metzger violating orders by leaving the group of Air Force personnel she came with to "shop for gifts." That is a big NO-NO. Next, she is seen going out the door wearing a sweater and tight jeans - she has the figure of a 12 year-old boy - casually walking onto the street.
But wait! Weren't we told that Jill was approached by two English-speaking women in the store who asked her for "help." Even the "official" version acknowledges Jill had a working cell phone. Why didn't the major call for assistance then or seek out any of the many uniformed and plain-clothes cops that make the department store a very safe place for locals and foreigners alike?
Next, we are told someone put a "bomb" in her back pocket, she "seemed to go into a trance," and woke up in a "strange house" where she was held captive. Hmmmm. Daddy Metzger told the Air Force TIMES that the abductors "beat her up pretty bad" and "placed a rope around her neck." Then he said, on the third day of her captivity, she somehow had the strength and opportunity to bop one of her guards - wasn't he armed and she restrained? - on the head and escape by running barefoot 35 or 40 miles to a farmhouse in Kant.
From there she called not her base commander - why didn't she phone him right away for help when she first was in trouble? - but the U.S. Embassy, and they told her to "clam up" and say nothing. The local cops interviewed a cab driver who said he took Jill from the store to an abortion clinic in town. The location has already been published on MilitaryCorruption.com (see "related stories box" below). In the cab, Jill - who purchased hair dye in the market AFTER she left the store - may have splashed the dark substance on her locks to conceal the light blonde coiffure.
It is a FACT, even admitted by the Air Force, that Jill had hair dye stains on her hands! How did they get there? Well, we suppose an enterprising USAF public affairs officer (spinmeister) can explain that away by saying: "Oh, gee, that's cuz Jill kept running her hands through her hair as she ran the 40 miles from the place where she overpowered her guard and escaped. Yeah, that's the ticket!"
Do you really think "kidnappers" are going to stop and do a "dye job" on Jill to conceal her ethnicity? Come on! Or did Jill do it to try and "disguise" herself while she had a certain medical procedure in the Bishkek clinic, hoping she'd be able to scoot back to base before curfew. "The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray," said that great Scot Bobby Burns. And we feel that may well have triggered the fantastic tale that Jill has told and the Air Force accepted all this time.
If she really exhibited such tremendous ability at "escape and evasion," don't you think the brass would have awarded her the Air Force Cross and put her on tour? How about Larry King, or the TODAY Show? No, there are no medals, no citations, because the Air Force knows it is all an elaborate lie. But there is also no court-martial or any punitive action. That would not be "politically correct," even though it is morally inexcusable and a gross insult to others in the Air Force who would be tossed in a cell right away.
"YOU'RE A DISGRACE TO
THE AIR FORCE,"
As the days dwindle down to a precious few, and Jill anticipates all those $$$ from what we hear is an upcoming PTSD pension, she's finding out even her "minders" - who's that foxy female captain from Washington that follows her around all the time? - as well as top brass that help her "jump the waiting line" at the pharmacy - we have "eyes and ears" everywhere - can't totally control the wrath of "the little people."
Jill was in an off-base Walmart recently when she was berated by an angry female dependant who screamed at the startled major: "You're a disgrace to the Air Force." That's one of the "nicer" things she reportedly shouted. We can't print the rest. Oh, to be "a bug on the wall" and witnessed that! Woo! Hoo! Poor Jill, we are told, was temporarily nonplussed by the sudden verbal assault, but soon beat a hasty retreat to another aisle and eventually out of the big box store.
It'll be better for you as a civilian, Maj. Metzger.
There's plenty of folks out there who will believe anything you say,
as long as you complain about men and decry the "discrimination"
you have faced as a "super-achiever" in the backward, male-oriented
U.S. Air Force. Play the "victim" card and it will lead
to fame and fortune. This is America - the land of opportunity.
The big bucks await.
