| AIR FORCE JAG COLONEL TO RETIRE AS 1ST LT Well, it took long enough, but finally there is some small measure of "justice" in the Col. Murphy case. The former commander of the Air Force Legal Operations Agency at Bolling AFB in Washington won't retire on a full colonel's fat pension, after all. He's going out the door as a first lieutenant, the last grade the USAF Personnel Review Board figured he served in "satisfactorily." Michael Murphy can thank his lucky stars he didn't go to jail for a very long time, as he faced 41 years in the slammer after his court-martial conviction in 2009 on three counts of larceny, failure to obey a general order, and conduct unbecoming an officer. The well-connected military JAG was also nabbed for failing to disclose to the Air Force that he had been disbarred from legal practice in two states - Texas and Louisiana. Thus, for more than 20 years, Murphy functioned as a fully-qualified military attorney, when, in reality, he was not. Undoubtedly, the deceitful colonel "signed off" on lesser ranks being booted out of the service or going to Leavenworth, while knowing he was not legally able to rule on their fate. ANOTHER HIGH-RANKING JAG GETS A SLAP-ON-THE-WRIST Murphy is not the first high-ranking attorney to disgrace the Air Force. Top JAG, former Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Fiscus, was caught having affairs with more than two dozen women, yet the senior officer, who should have been severely punished as an example, escaped with a "slap-on-the-wrist" bust to colonel and no hard time. He didn't even have to face an Article 32 hearing. What's that old saying about "different spanks for different ranks?" Fiscus was "taken care of" by fellow top brass. As for the women, most more than happy to accept favors from the general, none were punished, not even the arrogant major who told the full bird commander of a European air base that he was going to "have to learn to get along" with her, "or else." Or else, being, she would inform her "good friend," Fiscus, and all of a sudden hell would be in season for anyone "displeasing" her. Too bad she got to keep her undeserved promotion. NO JUSTICE AT ALL IN THE JILL METZGER COVER-UP Another black mark in Air Force history is the blatant cover-up of the Jill Metzger scandal. You will recall (see related stories box below) she was the pampered and protected former poster girl for USAF female super-achievers. A two-time winner of the Air Force Marathon, who knew how to "suck up the to brass" to get a head, she "faked" her so-called "abduction" in Kyrgyzstan, we are told, and not only escaped punishment for her lies, but scored a lucrative 100% "disability" pension for PTSD. The obvious question is, if there was no kidnapping, where does the PTSD stem from? And who wants to keep the arrogant major's mouth shut? At any rate, Jill need not worry much. Bloat-faced bully, Gen. Gary North, is so powerful and intimidating, no one will dare ask questions about "hush money" until he is out of the Air Force. And it doesn't hurt that Metzger's young junior officer "husband" is an agent with the OSI. The mainstream media, fearful of being labeled "politically-incorrect," won't go near the Metzger story with a ten-foot pole. We know, we've tried to interest them with facts and solid sources, but the silence has been deafening. The truth may emerge someday, and someone may even be prosecuted for conspiracy and fraud, but pardon us while we don't hold our breath waiting for that to happen. MURPHY RETIRED ON "APRIL FOOL'S DAY" As for the Murphy case, MilitaryCorruption.com happily recalls a prediction we made on these pages back in 2007. "We predict, when all is said and done, this fraudulent Air Force lawyer will be reduced in grade and allowed to retire on his pension with not one day served in the slammer." The announced date for Murphy to retire as a first lieutenant is rather appropriate. April 1st - "April Fool's Day." Let's just hope it's for real, and not a joke. |
