BASE COMMANDER AT GITMO FIRED - SOURCES

The Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba has been rocked by rumors that Navy CAPT John Nettleton is under investigation by NCIS in connection with the mysterious death of his alleged lover's husband.
Former commanding officer of the base (but not the GITMO Detention Center - that's under control of a joint service task force), Nettleton, a 27-year Navy veteran, was relieved by REAR ADM Mary M. Jackson. She's commander of Navy Region Southeast.
The "official" reason Nettleton was sacked is Jackson "lost confidence" in his "ability to lead." But that's the usual boilerplate the Navy uses whenever a skipper or senior officer walks the plank.
WAS GAL PAL'S HUSBAND MURDERED?
Our CI's at GITMO say it was widely known the captain and Lara Tur, the director of Fleet and Family Services at the base, were, shall we say, an "item." But speculation is running wild that the mysterious death of her hubby Christopher, might not have been just another "suicide."
The 42 year-old civilian was reported "missing" by Lara just 24 hours before his floating corpse was hauled out of the bay. As of press time, we are not privy to whether or not the body bore signs of violence.
The couple came to GITMO in June 2011. Nettleton arrived as base commander one year later. Exactly when the alleged affair began is not known outside of NCIS at this time.
