ANOTHER "HORRIBLE HOLLY GRAF" WALKS THE

If the content of the e-mail that has come into us and the Navy TIMES is any indication, there are few indeed mourning the firing of imperious CAPT Rachel Haltner as hospital commander on the USNS Comfort.
In fact, from what some have said, it looks like the Navy finally rid itself of another "Horrible Holly Graf" type screamer .
"(She) led by intimidation and paranoia as if there was some kind of conspiracy against her," former crew-member Christine Adams-Jamieson wrote in to the TIMES.
The letter-writer said Haltner was creating a "hostile command climate" at least five years ago when the hard-charging officer was a Navy three-striper in Bahrain.
"Bravo Zulu, Rachel. Karma finally caught up with you!"
WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND
Last month, a letter writer who asked to remain anonymous wrote Navy TIMES that Haltner "belittles her officers and chiefs and creates an atmosphere where no one feels safe to go against her word. Even when she's wrong, people are afraid to speak up."
Another frightened but joyful "victim" of Haltner's "reign of terror" told us: "The Navy has known for a long time she was another (horrible) Holly Graf, but they did nothing until now. Good riddance to her. It's about time she got her walking papers."
Haltner was relieved just two days before the Comfort was set to get underway from the Norfolk Naval Station on a deployment to Central and South America.
REAR ADM Thomas Shannon, head of the Military Sealift Command, made the decision to have Haltner walk the plank. This isn't the first hospital commander he's sacked. Two years ago, Shannon fired CAPT Kenneth Knoop, Haltner's predecessor, on the famed hospital ship.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: -- If Haltner feels we have been unfair or inaccurate in our account of her actions, she is invited to write us to be granted equal space to explain here why she isn't a raging Sea-Witch. We're sorry her Navy career has come to such an ignominious end, but maybe she can get a job now on the Hillary Clinton campaign. Send in your application to the mysterious Huma Abedin, Rachel. She should like you.]
