NO HELP FROM REP.
ANGLO VET CLAIMS RACIAL
DISCRIMINATION SAYS HISPANICS
FAVORED BY CONGRESSMAN FROM
CORPUS CHRISTI IM A MINORITY IN
MY OWN COUNTRY JOHN ROHMFELD
A disabled former staff sergeant in the Texas National Guard tells MilitaryCorruption.com hes a victim of racial discrimination by his Hispanic congressman, Rep. Solomon Ortiz of Corpus Christi, Texas.
He has refused to help me, and his staff wont take my phone calls, says John Rohmfeld of Kingsville, Tex. I dont want preferential treatment. I just want to get the same help that Hispanic service-members have received, whove been in the same situation I am in. I feel like Im a minority in my own country.
Rohmfeld, a former Marine NCO who served on active duty, cities the case of retired Texas National Guard Sergeant-Major (SGM) Arnold Diaz.
As written earlier in MilitaryCorruption.com, Diaz was the victim of blatant discrimination in the Guard. The top-notch NCO, who was one of the few enlisted personnel there to have earned a four-year college degree, was repeatedly passed over for promotion. He maintained it was because of his Hispanic heritage. And he was right! For many years in the Lone Star State, Hispanics in the Guard were unfairly treated by their Anglo bosses.
But discrimination can cut BOTH ways. And Diaz, a man of unquestioned integrity, rose to the defense of his friend and fellow non-commissioned officer, when he publicly defended Rohmfeld, asking WHY his fellow noncom wasnt getting justice.
I know what its like to be excluded because of ones ethnic background, Diaz told MilitaryCorruption.com. That makes me sensitive to that same type of discrimination when I see an Anglo brother suffer the way I did.
Diaz verified that Rohmfeld, an excellent, hard-working NCO, was repeatedly passed over for promotion.
John never got past E-6 (staff sergeant), and not only was he discriminated against by his Hispanic supervisor (an E-7), but he was injured on duty as well.
Diaz said he witnessed the Hispanic NCO sadistically make Rohmfeld work in a noisy vehicle and equipment repair shop without the benefit of ear guard protection.
John told me his senior NCO wouldnt
let him wear ear protection. And that he got severe tinnitus as a result.
Diaz also related how he saw the Hispanic senior NCO speak only in Spanish whenever he was around Rohmfeld. This, I believe, was a tactic to isolate John and make him aware that he an Anglo was unwelcome in the shop, Diaz said.
Fortunately, Arnold Diaz finally achieved justice with the help of his congressman, a fellow Hispanic. Who was that legislator? None other than Solomon Ortiz!
A CURIOUS DOUBLE-STANDARD
When MilitaryCorruption.com contacted the congressmans office in Washington, we asked to speak with the Texas Democrats chief-of-staff or veterans affairs representative. Instead we got a female press secretary who promptly hung up in our ear!
THAT is NOT a smart thing to do!
While Ortiz can safely assume his majority-Hispanic district will continue to elect him to Congress as long as he likes, there are other ways this congressman can be forced to do his duty and represent all the citizens of the 27th congressional district, regardless of their race or ethnic background.
The situation here is OBVIOUS. We have two constituents. Both former members of the Texas Guard, both proven to be discriminated against on the basis of race and ethnic origin. The Hispanic soldier was helped, the Anglo was not! This is intolerable and un-American.
Congressman Ortiz, you have one more opportunity to contact John Rohmfeld, and this time, to exercise the authority of your office and see to it he gets the same level of treatment you afforded his friend SGM Arnold Diaz.
MORE ANTI-ANGLO DISCRIMINATION IN THE TEXAS GUARD
Since our last story on the plight of former Staff Sergeant John Rohmfeld appeared, we have been deluged by emails from other members of the Texas National Guard attesting to corruption within the ranks and a serious problem with anti-Anglo discrimination in units in the valley and border area.
We have been told of reverse-discrimination by Hispanics in positions of authority who routinely deny Anglo soldiers deserved and earned promotions. Also, they report, drill formations have been held entirely in Spanish, despite the presence of non-Hispanic soldiers standing in the ranks.
One source told MilitaryCorruption.com the bias is so blatant that now the pendulum has completely shifted from anti-Hispanic to anti-Anglo prejudice. And the cowardly politicians in Austin, ever-mindful of political correctness, arent willing to do whats right. They just let it go on, unimpeded.
