It's all over for Robert Butts. The retired Army light colonel and STRATCOM contractor will be staying in prison for at least the next 25 years.
The Iowa Court of Appeals has turned down his attorney's request the former officer's 2010 conviction on kidnapping and other charges be tossed out due to technicalities, as well as Butts' alleged "PTSD" acquired during his military service.
We know at least two people in Council Bluffs, Iowa who are relieved the court ruled as it did.
TWO SISTERS SURVIVED BREAK-IN
Regina and Jennifer Walker will never forget that terrible night of November 11, 2009 when Butts broke into their apartment at the Sherwood Plaza.
Quick-witted Jennifer heard a commotion in the living room and spotted a gun-wielding man standing over her sister, snarling "Take your clothes off!"
Jen raced for the bathroom, locked herself in, and called cops on her cell phone, while her sister tried to reason with, then wrestle the weapon away from her surly intruder.
BUTTS PLAYS DUMB - "I DON'T REMEMBER A THING"
Police arrived quickly and subdued the 45 year-old Butts, who told investigators "I don't remember a thing. I must have blacked out." Cops made short work of that when they discovered burglary tools in his car and some 50 rape/sex attack-themed videos in the ex-colonel's house.
The former field grade officer was hit with burglary, armed robbery, kidnapping, making terroristic threats and attempted rape charges in Pottawattamie County court.
With his conviction upheld, Butts will have to watch his "butt" in prison. Inmates don't take kindly to scum like him.
