It looked like a scam that might work, but greedy and corrupt Army soldiers were caught in the end, and another case of corruption in Afghanistan among U.S. forces goes into the record books.

SGT Reginald Dixon of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii was stationed at FOB Fenty near Jalalabad, Afghanistan. According to investigators, the 30 year-old NCO conspired with at least two other GI's to create phony Transportation Movement Requests (TMR's), load up tank trucks with 3000 gallons of JP8 jet fuel, and, instead of delivering it for use by American forces, the shipments went to a local Afghan contractor.

Court papers show that DIxon would get $3000 per truck load of fuel he managed to steal from Uncle Sam.

PLEADS GUILTY TO ONE COUNT OF BRIBERY

The Hawaii-based sergeant decided to cut a deal with the Feds, and has entered into a plea agreement in U.S. District Court in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He agreed to plead guilty to one count of bribery before Judge Leslie Kobayashi.

Dixon had faced up to 15 years in prison for his alleged crimes. The "non-com" is scheduled to be sentenced on October 4, 2012.
