PVT Shavonte Hampton just made it harder for other female soldiers who really are raped to have their claims treated seriously.
The low-life liar from Camp Casey, Korea was convicted at court-martial of "filing a false official statement" (hello, Jill, are you reading this?) and failing to report to formation.
Military judge LTC Thomas Kulish hit her with a six-month prison term and forfeiture of two-thirds pay for the same time period. The private was spared being bounced out of the Army on an administrative separation. But it's probably a safe bet she won't try to lie about "rape" anytime soon with a conviction for falsehood on her record.

AN INNOCENT MAN WOULD HAVE GONE TO PRISON
The identity of her victim, and now decidedly "ex-boyfriend," has not been revealed. But he can thank his lucky stars he wasn't railroaded into prison like Air Force Maj. Mark Seldes (see "related stories box" below) who found out promiscuous females can lie and get away with it when they yell "rape" in Korea. He lost his career and is now doing hard time at the Leavenworth DB.
According to STARS AND STRIPES (kudos to them for covering this case), Hampton got tripped up when she kept changing her story. Investigators discovered she had been late before to formation and was using the "rape" charge to try and get off the hook for any disciplinary action.
This time, the CID actually did their job well and nailed the real guilty person. The next male falsely accused in a phony "rape" claim, may not be so fortunate.
