SHINSEKI ON THE HOT SEAT AS V.A. HOSPITAL

Eric Shinseki's days may be numbered as Veterans Affairs Secretary.
The American Legion has called for him to resign or be fired. Members of Congress are outraged. Now the House Veterans Affairs Committee has issued a subpoena for VA records pertaining to a "secret" waiting list for veterans at the Phoenix hospital - a list of service-members, some 40 of whom died due to delayed care.
If the cover-up extends to other VA facilities around the country, it will be very hard for the 1965 West Point graduate and retired four-star general to survive.
REMEMBER THE BLACK BERET FIASCO?
We at MilitaryCorruption.com have a long memory. We've had Shinseki's number for quite a while. Check our "related stories box" at the bottom of this article and you will see what we mean.
It was way back when MilitaryCorruption.com first launched, that we blasted the political general for his participation in what we called the "black beret fiasco."
Shinseki had ordered the Army's elite Rangers to give up their exclusive status so that everyone from clerks to truck drivers could wear a black beret. When we disclosed that the bulk of the contract for the new berets was let to a Chinese company, and the rest to a "hat company" manufacturer in, of all places - Arkansas, the shit hit the fan.
It just so happens that the Conway, Ark. firm was a campaign contributor to then-sitting President Bill Clinton.
The 71 year-old Shinseki dodged a bullet back then. He may not be so lucky now.
