COVER-UP NOW TAKEN WITH HIM TO THE GRAVE

It's a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Why did the well-liked 3rd Wing Commander at Elmendorf AFB Alaska take his own life with a handgun? And why would he do that in his home with his beloved wife and college-age daughter in a near-by room?

Gen. Thomas Tinsley left no "suicide note," sources say, and the base public affairs office confirms the charismatic leader was not under investigation.

"There is no indication of foul play being involved here," said Lt. Col. Michael Paoli.

So what happened? Was the strange death of this up-and-coming flag officer linked in any way to the rapid fall from grace of his former boss, disgraced former Air Force Chief of Staff, Gen. T. Michael Moseley? Tinsley's last assignment before assuming command of the 3rd Wing was a 22-month stint between 2005 and 2007 as the fired general's executive officer at the Pentagon.

Could it be that the command pilot with over 3200 hours in the air, knew something that caused him to sink into a quiet depression he kept hidden from even his closest friends and associates?

A MilitaryCorruption.com source at the Pentagon told us that Tinsley knew and "kept all the secrets" for Moseley. Could it be he was aware the controversial former Air Force boss was going to be exposed in the near future? Or was the reason he took his own life something totally unrelated to his prior service at the puzzle palace?

Those who have been disgusted and dismayed by the Air Force stonewall around what really happened in the Maj. Jill Metzger case, especially her getting a lucrative PTSD "disability" pension and being slipped out the back door with no explanation or statement about her so-called "heroics" after being "kidnapped" in Kyrgzystan in 2006, now realize that one honorable person who had to be privy to that sweetheart deal is now dead and will tell no tales.

Whatever caused Gen. Tinsley to pull the trigger must have been of sufficiently horrible a nature that he felt there was no other way out. Without a good-bye note or any explanation, his death could remain a mystery for a long time to come.
