SPC TRENTON WESTONWhat was it that killed Trent Weston?

The Army SPC was found "unresponsive" in his barracks room at Fort Bragg, N.C. The CID is investigating, and have not returned calls seeking comment.

If this was a simple drug overdose, one would think they'd be more forthcoming. But they've slammed down the lid on any details whatsoever, so we are left with rumors and speculation.

Was Trent murdered? Did he commit suicide? If so, why? Lots of questions being asked on post. A healthy young man like Weston doesn't usually die of "natural causes" in bed.

WHY DID THE SOLDIER DIE?

We do know the 22 year-old soldier was popular with his buddies and had no disciplinary problems. He'd been in the Army since March of 2013 and from what we were able to find out from our CI's on Bragg, Weston was doing well in the 82nd Special Troops Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division.

An Illinois native, the E-4 was unmarried, and leaves behind his parents, two sisters, and a brother.

"SPC Weston was known throughout the battalion as being absolutely selfless when it came to helping others and accomplishing the mission. He will be sorely missed," said the dead GI's commanding officer, LTC David Vandevandor. "Our heartfelt condolences go out to SPC Weston's family and loved ones during this time of great loss."
