CADET KICKED-OUT OF WEST POINT GETS 30

Next month, West Point Cadet Tevin Long's class will graduate from USMA and join the Long Grey Line. But the onetime Golden Knights football player from Texas won't be among them.
Tevin Long has been convicted on drug charges by a military judge and ordered dismissed from the Army. He also will have to spend 30 days behind bars . He has his whole life to think over how reckless and stupid he was to think he could have gotten away with bringing pain-killers like Oxycodone and anxiety drugs such as Aldrazolam on campus.
"I don't know how I'll ever forgive myself for squandering this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Long said in court. "Cadet Long's behavior is inconsistent with the values of the military academy," a West Point spokesperson said in a press release.
MORE POTENTIAL "DRUGGIES" AMONG CADETS
Long isn't the only cadet in trouble for pushing and popping prohibited pills and opioids at the famed Army institution on the Hudson. He was one of seven cadets recently caught up in the latest drug scandal.
They were finally nabbed after driving (during 2013 - 2015) to nearby Newburgh, Pa. and locations in New Jersey where drug dealers sold them the junk which would later prove to be their downfall.
One other cadet faces court-martial and five have been placed on administrative leave while the West Point superintendent decides to court-martial them or take other action.
Long's publically stated regret as to his wrongdoing is painfully appropriate in view of the fact he will always carry the shame of being dismissed from the Army and West Point, as well as the financial burden of facing the possibility he or his family will have to pay Uncle Sam back big bucks for the first-class education he received at USMA.
