We don't have a dog in this fight. In fact, the "gay lobby" would call us knuckle-dragging neanderthals for favoring the "go-slow" approach to overturning the Clinton-era "Don't Ask - Don't Tell" policy regarding homosexuals in the U.S. military. However, common sense dictates such a major change in policy be thoroughly thought out beforehand.
That is not to say we approve of witch hunts and tossing highly-trained people out of the service simply for who they are, not what they have done. We don't. A classic example of a waste of talent and training is the Margaret Witt case.
This highly-decorated and very efficient former flight nurse saw her military career, pension and benefits threatened, when a malicious soul tipped off her commander that she was, gasp, a "lesbian." That was fairly well known in her Air Force Reserve unit in Washington State, but Witt herself had strictly adhered to the rules of DADT. No one asked, and she didn't tell. But once she was informed on, the Air Force went into overdrive to kick her out. Never mind that she was coming up on promotion and qualifying for retirement.
All the people we have spoken to about Witt highly praise her. This warm, friendly woman is no man-hating, "in-your-face" bull dyke. Let the record show she has saved lives and served under fire. We doubt if any of the wounded and disabled patients she nursed during her nearly 20 years in uniform cared at all about her private life. They were just glad that a highly-skilled professional, and a caring, compassionate person like Maj. Witt, was there to take care of them.
MilitaryCorruption.com has written extensively on this case before (see "related stories box" below) and we stand by our position that Margaret Witt has been unfairly treated and should be reinstated into the Air Force at the earliest opportunity. We were gratified when a federal judge agreed with us and ordered same.
But the hypocritical Obama Administration, led by self-proclaimed "fierce advocate for gay rights" Barack Hussein Obama is ready to block that court order.
SEEKING A "STAY" OF JUDGE'S ORDER -
TRYING TO MINIMIZE POLITICAL FALL OUT
A deep-cover source at the Pentagon informs us that a "plan" has already been laid out to deny Witt her rights. The lawyers are ready to seek a "stay" of the reinstatement order, but first think they can minimize the political fallout for their boss in the White House by using a strategy that results in the least collateral damage.
"They will claim Witt is unqualified to re-enter the armed forces," said an officer privy to decision-making in the case. "Say she can't pass the physical," he repeated. "Use any excuse you can to prevent her from coming back on duty, and that will make it easier for the commander-in-chief."
For more than two years, Obama has been promising to abolish "DADT," while hundreds of military members are still shown the door. Many lose their medical and retirement benefits and curse the day they were conned into voting for the man shouting "HOPE" and "REAL CHANGE."
So far, the President has been able to placate his wealthy gay political supporters with platitudes and postponements. He has been playing them for political "suckers." Now, time is running out on him. It is common knowledge that Obama could save Witt and many others by issuing an "executive order." That would stop the arbitrary dismissals immediately. But he lacks the spine to risk political points in such a situation. If he is serious about running for re-election, he surely doesn't need a DADT debate hanging around his ears.
An even more touchy subject is Obama's rumored personal life. Google the name "Larry Sinclair" and you will see what we mean. In Chicago, they play hardball politics. Not everyone is falling down to support former Obama top aide Rahm Emanuel in his campaign for mayor. Don't be surprised if Hillary Clinton makes her move to run against the wounded Obama in the 2012 Democratic Presidential Primary. By then, the mainstream media may have finally dug into who it was that once belonged to a controversial private club in the Windy City called "Man's Country." We hear that Barack was "well-known" there, back in the day.
